True they are not your property, but in all likelihood they are not the property of the Postal Service either. I would surmise that the building and the boxes were installed by the developer and now are under the control of the CDD.

The USPS doesn't have any reason to look at the outside of the boxes. They load the mail from inside the building.

Drive down the road from TV and you will see residential boxes painted in all kinds of colors and even shaped like animals. I once had a neighbor who had a COW mailbox in our very upscale neighborhood.

It had never occurred to the HOA to prohibit cow mailboxes.

If you are unlucky enough to have a post office box on the bottom row, you'll be really glad that people use stickers.
That way you don't have to lie down on the ground to read the numbers.
Our box is in the middle of the bottom row, just right of a smiley face sticker.

They are , in fact , owned by usps, not the cdd

Not very new to TV but.... I thought stickers were a form of individualization. In the everything looks the same places, a bit of frivolity that may( or may not as this case may be) bring a smile or sense of personality to a humdrum area.

I can't help to feel happy that we have all reached an age where we have the time to discuss this and do so many other things too that we didn't have time for before. Good morning everyone.

So is ours. Our neighbor has a sticker on her box, which is right above ours. Makes it easy to spot ours.

Maybe you could find a scratch & sniff sticker that would give off a foul odor if anyone tried to remove it.
Scented Candles | Air Fresheners | Scented Stickers

This one advertises "stinky scratch & sniff stickers" http://www.everythingsmells.com/stscandsnst3.html

In New Zealand, mailboxes are works of art. They are mostly all tacky and fascinating.

Carl, you always come up with solid reasoning. I don't always agree with it, but you have it. Now next time, could you please weigh in two or three pages earlier?

I like your style! We have a happy face sticker on our po box, as do many of our neighbors. No harm done that I can see. Sorry the OP is having this issue. Sounds like a cranky neighbor.

I always thought the po box was in the back of the Catholic Church.

That was what people used before all of the food stamps and things.
