Check the Found Handicap Placard thread. Hopefully that will help.

Did you tell Publix or the police? They may have a tape of the parking lot...

Default Handicapped sticker

Even when the handicapped person is in the vehicle but does not exit it and another person gets out and walks briskly into the store. Rant over!
What irks me is when golfers have a handicapped sticker and pull up and park practically on the green, then they jump out of the cart and briskly walk to their ball. They bend over with ease. They ignore the rope put out (which means do not drive past this point) and weave their way through the palm trees and drive right around the edge of the green so they don't have to walk the extra 15-20 feet. I have watched this on a daily basis. 75% of them do not seem to have a handicap that I can see. I have had 2 knee replacements, neck surgery with screws, arthritis, fibromyalgia and I don't use my handicapped sticker to golf.

my wife, who has a permit, and I have often remarked how trusting Villagers are (we are now among the crew now). 1 k golf clubs in the back, handicapped parking permits on golf carts, etc......too much of the big city persona in us to be so trusting...

It can be looked up by an officer it tells them if it's valid and who the driver is. Have seen it done, in michigan if are alone you can use the space, but if you leave your passenger in the car while you are shopping the car can not be parked in a handicap space. The reason given was healthy person can drop off and park the car. It happened to my parents, until my mom showed them her permit along with my dads

True story: when Sheldon was going through cancer and chemotherapy we got a handicapped hanger for the car. His big trip every week was to Sam's Club, and even going through all his sickness he really looked forward to it.

One day we parked in a handicapped space and he slowly made his way into the store. By the time we finished shopping, he had gotten so tired he could hardly stand, so he leaned against the building while I sprinted out to the car with our grocery cart and feverishly started loading the groceries into the trunk. Someone saw me hustle to the car so they drove over, slowed down, lowered their window and started shouting obscenities at me because it was obvious to them I was not handicapped.

Sometimes you don't know what you don't know.

I don't think that anyone has a problem with the "intent" of the handicap placard. It's the "abuse" of it that upsets people. Went to a dance class at Big Cypress, where a couple parked in a handicap space with a placard, hanging from the rearview mirror. They both went in and "danced up a storm". That is the "abuse" that makes people angry.
Hopefully, the person, who's placard was stolen, gets it back, and it improves his/her quality of life from its use.
