When so n so said lockdown then the buying began. Also made mention when he got in office, might shutdown until vaccine is out. Many Restaurants won’t make it through another long lockdown. He said indoors/outdoors a mask mandate will be in place. Can’t eat with a mask on. We will see what happens. Hey folks it’s starting in lots of states with paper products. Nothing to do with the storm!

I never noticed an expiration date on toilet paper packaging.

Snowbird populations Come in south side stocking up?

Not if they bought it in small numbers over a longer period of time. Could be they always have a lot and buy one pack when one runs out.

You all forgot the Big Hurricane was coming last week. Charge! Off to the store, buy anything you don't need just in case we are flooded in TV. Thank you weathermen for causing another panic.

Moderator, please close this thread!!! No matter what their stance, they have to make every post political. My goodness, over toilet paper!!! Are you kidding? Get a life. Why waste your your time posting useless information or attacking the poster? All you are doing is creating more division in this country. The facts is that this was on the national news there was a shortage in areas of the country that have virus explosions so people are fearful that may happen here, the shelves have never been fully stocked since the first breakout, the demand has increased as many snow birds are arriving, hoarders and according to the Publix Manager, fears of the trucking issue.

Of course that was 4 days ago and when they saw that it went over like a lead balloon, they've been frantically backpedaling for the past 48 hours.
Heard on Fox News that because of the Biden win, everyone is worried about another nationwide lockdown. They reported that large grocery chains like Kroger are imposing rationing of paper products, cleaning supplies, meat, etc.

I was at the 466a Aldi a week ago and they had their signs up---"take one of each only" of paper-goods. BUT seemed to have plenty. I'd heard maybe 2 weeks ago that people were stocking up at SAM's...as in a hurricane or whatever, is coming. But went to Neighborhood Walmart and there was more than enough there and people didn't seem to be in the hoarding mind-set. Maybe it's when rumors start and people get the crowd-effect and begin doing it....or maybe if the shelves are empty it's a warehouse issue and not a store issue. There is a trickle down effect before it hits the consumer.

Totally agree. Close the Thread.

These topics bring out the worst in people. Our democracy is fragile enough & our spirits need positive energy.
