Default Sunbirds Departure

I have been a permanant Villager now for three months. I have read many references saying that when the snowbirds leave, a sense of normalcy descends upon TV. When can I relatively expect this to happen. Tommorrow is April 1st, time is slowly slipping away.

Never!!

By then, some of us wannabee's will be there 040 040

Sorry, TV will need to learn to handle this craziness!

Remember, snowbird migration is not necessarily a good time for all us frogs. I've several friends and neighbors, especially one couple, that I really hate to see leave. I understand their commitments up north, but in many cases, they (especially he) would love to stay permanently and we'd love to have them. I'd gladly suffer the dinner delays and slight difficulty in getting an extra tee time to keep the neighborhood intact.

Muncle, There's finally something we can agree on. I love the snowbirds! I'm going to miss them terribly. To Snowbirds: Come back as soon as you can!

However, when the snowbirds leave the snowflakes arrive....like me! :hot:

I do understand the sadness of when long term neighbors/friends leave to return to their permanent residences, but let's face it...variety is the spice of life...soooooo, out with the old and in with the new!

It's a time to reestablish/establish new friendships and get on with life...with sadness returning when the snowflakes leave yet with happy anticipation of the snowbirds fall arrival.

It's cyclical like the seasons.

In the past I have noticed that on April 1st that there is a difference in the amount of people that are here. Then on May 1st this place really empties out.

Tonight we went to Cane Garden to eat at 6:15 and were seated right away. However I have noticed that on the computer tee time service that times are still tight. After May 1st there will be a huge difference in that availability or at least it has been that way in the past.

It seems that there are more and more people that are becoming full time. Last summer I ran into a guy that went back North on April 1st and after 2 weeks of sitting in his house and being bored he looked at his wife and said what are we doing here. They put their home up for sale and were lucky enough to sell it and were back by June 1st.

I can't wait to get there for good, I don't care what they call me, as long as I am a full time Villager...

Another one who likes the snowbirds, snowflakes, frogs and local residents who visit TV. It is part of the charm of living here permanently. You never know who you will meet, the stories you will hear, the smiles brought by whom.

If I had to make a choice between putting up with the added traffic, wait times for restaurants, etc. (can't say golf times since I don't play) or not having these wonderful people in my life, I'd definitely take every inconvenience and even more. Some things really are worth the price!

What exactly are snowbirds, snowflakes, and frogs? I get frogs but have heard varying definitions of snowbirds and snowflakes.

Do not particularly like the traffic during some winter months in TV but enjoy a more crowded theater, town square, Doggie Doo Run Run dog park, restaurant, etc. More people to watch and maybe meet even if I am more of a listener in person than a talker.

I can get myself really creeped out when I am the only person in a movie in a large auditorium like when I saw The Exorcism of Emily Rose http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0404032/ in the biggest auditorium at Old Mill Playhouse. That's when I really start seeing 2 2 4 s and 6 1 3 s in the movies. :joke:

At the end of March most renters leave. That's a large segment of TV. You can really notice the traffic is down. Just think in another month the letters to the paper will stop complaining about the round abouts also.

Have a Great Day
