Default CDC - Fully Vaccinated people may now travel

For domestic travel, people who are two weeks past their final shot do not need to get a coronavirus test before or after trips and do not need to self-quarantine after travel.

For international travel, fully vaccinated people do not need to be tested before their trips unless it is required by the destination.

Nearly 40 percent of all adults have received at least one dose of a vaccine and more than 1 in 5 adults are now fully vaccinated, including more than half of seniors

So, based on the fact that fully vaccinated people can congregate with no masks or social distancing.... which was laid down a couple weeks ago - how about vaccine-required flights and cruises? Then the masks go away as well. Just like they did in the 80's with the international smoking and non-smoking flights.

The CDC makes recommendations, not mandates. People continued to travel when the CDC recommended not to travel. Therewill always be people who do not abide by recommendations. Nothing new.

"CDC - Fully Vaccinated people may now travel"

Sounds like a mandate to me...

Just like when Biden said (and I paraphrase, lest I be called out on a misspelling or slightly different wording): ""If we do all this, if we do our part, if we do this together, by July the 4th, there's a good chance you, your families, and friends will be able to get together in your backyard or in your neighborhood and have a cookout and a barbeque and celebrate Independence Day...

That doesn't mean large events with lots of people together, but it does mean small groups will be able to get together."

That sounds an awful lot like permission, not a recommendation...

Oh - remember when he said in late Feb THIS YEAR>>>

Washington (CNN)Dr. Anthony Fauci said Sunday that it's "possible" Americans will still need to wear masks in 2022 to protect against the coronavirus, even as the US may reach "a significant degree of normality" by the end of this year.

Asked by CNN's Dana Bash on "State of the Union" whether he thinks Americans will still need to wear masks next year, Fauci replied: "You know, I think it is possible that that's the case and, again, it really depends on what you mean by normality."

As we get into the fall and the winter, by the end of the year, I agree with (President Joe Biden) completely that we will be approaching a degree of normality," said Fauci, who serves as Biden's chief medical adviser.
...........................

so many mixed messages on Covid thru last year, and continuing on and on and on. They all seem to enjoy and thrive on CONTROL and continung a CRISIS to keep us all on edge.

But most of all - the stagnation of in-school learning by Teacher's Unions and One Party is sickening. Still to this date - with ALL the scientific evidence that schools CAN open safely - they disregard THAT Science. And this really hurts the kids that need school the most - that can't afford private schools etc. Their education and growth will be impacted for a decade. Simply awful - and SO underreported.

I've been pretty good at following all the suggestions over the last 12 or 13 months, wearing my mask, staying away from crowds and people as much as I can, using gallons of hand sanitizer and rubbing alcohol, etc. I get my second shot in 2 weeks and 2 weeks after that I'm going back to a normal life, I'll wear a mask if mandated in certain situations but that is it, I've had enough, whatever happens to me happens.

Your definition of recommendation vs mandate vs permission seems to differ from mine.

For example....
If the CDC had MANDATED no travel by air, the airlines would have had to shut down completely. That never did happen, as far as I'm aware. Flights were cut back and passenger capacity was limited but the airlines continued to operate. So, instead of using the word "mandate", the CDC "recommended" people to not fly. But, they still did fly so that means there was no mandate to restrict all air travel.

The CDC doesn't have the "legal power" to mandate anything. But they damn sure have the power to influence policy... Hence the "limited passenger capacity" and the "cut back in flights"...

I just got off a plane. The CDC has lost credibility and most people don’t care. I get my second shot Wednesday not that it will change my behavior much. Once vaccines are available to all we need to go back to normal and no more worthless masks

A bit strange, but what about people who got the virus and are now immune? How do they prove they're good to go???????

I went for some fun and to rent an apartment in Bangkok for 4 months starting in December I’ve followed all the rules the last year but I’ll be 83 in December and I want my living on the edge life back lol

Does anyone really know what time it is? Does anyone care? Still confused after 40 years.
