I see that you have been involved in this thread since the beginning, did you ever place an order? I ordered mine 11 days ago and could get it in November.

Isn’t that nuts? It’s like they don’t even want to sell cars anymore. We’ve been waiting on a cybertruck since February and it is saying “2027” for delivery.

With the latest Tesla models, the fire risk is near zero close to that of ICE engine fires. The 2027 EZGO with the gen3 Samsung lithium pack same...and should last 20+ years.

If you keep your Model Y Premium charge/discharge mostly in the 60%-40% range (that's about 70 miles of range), the chance of both fire and capacity degradation is so close to zero you can call it zero.

As a Computer/Electric Engineer with 2 electric Golf carts (we like them), and considering an EV in the future. I asked AI Copilot for an opinion. Bottom line was: not recommended due to higher initial cost, higher depreciation, and higher repair cost. In addition, my low millages/year usage in The Villages (under 10,000 per year) does not offset these factors by a good margin. I was thinking the lower major parts reduction of EVs and high gas costs will swing the recommendation toward EVs. Better batteries are in the future, I read, but not ready for prime time in the US.
Choose any AI agent you like and use it as an additional source of information to help you make your decision. Many purchases (including some of mine) are made based on personal preferences or beliefs.
