Sure is! Hope to see you there sometime. I missed this month due to unpacking and not wanting to blow cold germs all over everyone.

To anyone considering a change in venue, would one of the CCs' outdoor covered patios work? It would kill two birds with one stone--happy hour plus large covered outside space. Bonifay?

Actually, it is open to anyone who wants to come, so you can bring visiting friends or relatives or neighbors that you would like to meet and greet us. In the past I have brought many people who weren't members of TOTV.

As far as changing the venue, I would leave Crispers as it is but if someone wants to organize a meet and greet any other time of the month or a different place, that would be really nice but for now, the Crispers place and time is iconic and I would hate to see that changed. MHO.

That certainly is an idea worth considering. One reason we chose Crispers at 3 PM, is that the restaurant usually isn't busy at that time so they don't mind us milling around. And it's lovely to enjoy the beautiful weather and meet on the patio. However on very hot days, it's great to have air conditioning available. And on cold winter days (hard to remember that we have them), it's nice to sit inside.

I was going to say that same thing Kathie, that you've brought lots on non-members over the years. You were instrumental in getting this group started, as was dear Donna, God rest her soul.

It's meant to be a casual meeting place where no-one needs to plan ahead or book a hall or shop and prepare food. If you're in the area, you can just pop by.

The suggestion discussed at the the last Crispers meeting wasn't to change the venue, but was an "addition to Crispers" happy hour meeting for those who couldn't make the regular once a month afternoon meeting for whatever reason.

I would keep Crispers as is as well and we could probably reconfigure the tables inside a bit to make it more conversational. I'm guessing next month might be the last indoor meeting then we'll be back outside where we can move the tables closer. I would however love to meet more than once a month at a more adult venue or even reserve a rec center room. The rec center near us (El Santiago) is extremely small and very condusive to this sort of thing. They don't use it much but going to a country club might work too, I would be up for anything. Can you tell we have only been here 6 months and not much of a social life yet?

Thanks for the clarification Doug, I think that would be awesome... In the days when I was move involved in TOTV, everyone knew my schedule of nighttime activities, and you'd be surprised at how many people I met who would show up at RJGators or Havana and we had great times having a drink and meeting up with them. At time, there were so many that showed up, that I would get a table for us all. I think another venue during Happy Hour would be fantastic.

Baileysmom,,, I believe the tables inside are bolted to the floor, LOL. We tried that once. But good idea about adult venue.
