I suspect at least 100 feet or more. Pot must really hang heavy in the open air.

And accurate enough to pinpoint that the guys you saw smoking "something" were in fact the ones who were smoking the joint that was being smelled.

We all know the story wouldn't stand a chance in hell of being accepted by the police or courts or any other quorum.

But I remain impressed and glad I wasn't smoking something near by.

By all means, please assume that my post (and every other post on this board) is a complete fabrication. I had nothing better to do with my time than make it up.
If I ever DO witness such an event, I'll be sure to measure how far I am from the blunt. I'll carry a home drug test also, and collect pee, and take pictures, as well, to confirm that everything that I post on a message board will documented. But it won't matter, somebody will still try to pick the post apart.

When you post on a forum, especially on a forum of the most sage people on the planet, you will get debate.

I implied none of the above at all. 51% in jest the other 49% make whatever works for who ever is reading it.

There isn't an antagonistic bone in my body........but I am inquisitive and always, always ask a lot of questions which usually generates similar reactions to the one above......not sure why that is

Absolutely wrong! What I think about those who use illegal drugs cannot be said here. I think it is shameful that so many people in TV think it is OK, or just a joke. How very sad.

I did not see a reply to say what you would have done if you witnessed a couple of janitors smoking a joint after hours at a Rec. Center - and if you honestly thought a police car would respond to such a call.

first off, smoking a joint is probably only a misdemeanor.....I think you have to have a certain amount on you before it becomes serious....I suspect a cop would only confiscate it and tell them to go on their way, at least if he was smart. Courts don't want to deal with misdemeanors. But btw, once had a sheriff's deputy say he'd much rather deal with a person who smoked pot over a drunk.....said drunks get belligerent and want to fight but the pot smokers are mellow and don't cause trouble....that is not expressing any opinion on the use of illegal substances

And why it IT illegal while alcohol isn't? Arbitrary laws.

Not that I would ever condone someone getting high on ANYTHING while working... Remember it is LEGAL in 2 stated and limited legal in some 21 others. It's not the devil you've been led to believe. I enjoy the remainder of my cruise much more after a stop in Jamaica!

I've managed all my life just fine on pure air. Don't drink, don't smoke, don't do illegal drugs. Never had any interest in any of it so I am not a hypocrite on the issue. I don't condone booze and then say pot should be illegal. The world would be better off if it was ALL illegal.

Because it's illegal. Just one more very good reason for legalization. Those brave people died for what exactly? A Shame!

Several years ago, while walking in back of Barnes & Noble at Sumter Landing, I spotted what the hippies call a “roach” on one of the benches. I immediately drove to Walgreens and bought some vinyl gloves and ziploc bags. I returned to the scene of the crime and bagged the evidence. I then took it to the sheriff’s office to have it tested for dna evidence. The deputies thanked me and said they would get their best detectives on the case right away. I never got word of the results of their investigation, but I’ll bet someone is now doing hard time for offense. I believe the Villages is a safer place because of my efforts.

Oh stop.

People are entitled to respect for their opinions about upholding the law. Even if some of you don't think it is a big deal.

We were all brought up in the era of rule following.

Making scathing posts toward someone who is truly sincere isn't pretty or nice.

Perhaps someday the rules will change, but for now it is illegal.

And we act like cocky teenagers when we brag about drinking or toking.

It ain't becomin'.

That kind of depends on how they choose to express their opinions.
