An evil man dies and goes to hell. He asks the devil "how hot is it here?" The devil replies "It's 200 degrees, but it's a dry heat."

Default Freedom Pointe/Homewood assisted living is excellent

Homewood is the old name for the assisted living portion of Freedom Pointe, (all now run by Brookdale). The "Village of Homewood" name lingers; it's still on the doormat. Freedom Pointe has 4 levels of care. The large building of the complex (8 stories) is independent living apartments. The two small buildings in the middle are the original Homewood. The larger of these is assisted living for about 30 residents who do not need memory care. The smaller one (closest to El Camino) is the assisted living-memory care facility for about 12 residents. The newest building, closest to the hospital, is a rehab/nursing care facility with about 80 beds, for short-term stays.

The quality of care in Freedom Pointe/Homewood assisted living is exceptionally good. Our 104-year-old mother lives there. The staff is outstanding.
