Ohhhh Noooo,,, now you've done it!!! I miss my favorite stores.... Bristol Farms and GELSON'S, where they "hand-giftwrap" each item before bagging it... Used to be a fav joke in SoCal. Include Whole Foods in that mix and you've captured all my fav stores.

Hurray ! I miss TJ and have gone to Gainesville twice since I moved here four months ago. I used to go once a week back in Long Island. I think Winter Park is better than Gainsville. I'm still praying for a closer location. We find not only is the food better but less pricey than here in The Villages.

I saw a sign on their location in Tampa last week... that store will be opening on March 26... I make regular trips to Tampa so this will be very convenient.

They really must be wonderful.
It's more of a specialty grocery store. I heard all the hype and while working in Cleveland I saw one and couldn't wait to go check it out. For me personally I was a little disappointed. I have been back a few times to that store and one in Columbus at Sawmill and 161. I think my expectations were just a bit too high. It's nice and they do have lots of healthy options. Oh and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention I like there small but really good wine section!!!! All that being said I'd love to see that or a Whole Foods built there. I think you'd enjoy it just wanted to set a realistic expectation for you.

Oh, I hope they are close together. We used to hit both TJ's & Whole Foods in one fell swoop when we drove from Muskegon to U of M (Ann Arbor) for physicals and such.

In Pittsburgh they were only a few blocks apart, although parking was another story altogether.

I used to take a cooler and hit them both up once a month.

I am a little confused, you talking that TJ is going to Winter Park which would be Orlando, but then I have read it is going to Tampa. Are there 2 different stores in discussion?

Yes, it is right, the owner of TJ is Aldi, a German family, two brother's running two different stores chains in Europe.

Both Tampa and Winter Park's populations could support a TJ's.

Since Trader Joe's opened their first store in Naples about three years ago, they have opened or announced a future store in at least a dozen cities. Besides Naples, these cities are Sarasota, Gainesville, Tampa, St Petersburg, two in Orlando, Winter Park, Jacksonville, Boca Raton, Palm Beach Gardens, and another beach community on the east coast whose name escapes me.

How far is Winter Park from Brownwood?

I may have to pick up another job before arriving in TV to sustain my Traders Joe's addiction.

ok, trader joes and aldi are owned by different parts of the same family, albrecht, but have no business relationship. they are totall independent of one another. also, TJ's has no intention of locating here at all. they typically locate in a college community, and have no interest in our demographic.
