I totally agree. Props for the statement.

I have no solid leads right now. Perhaps a lobster fancier?

Spanking is one thing, smacking as in the face, is quite another.

kcrazorbackfan: Back in the day corporal punishment was allowed. I had the distinction in Freshman class at West High School to have gotten the most whacks 265 that year and a school record. Our gym teacher drilled large holes in his paddle to eliminate wind resistance.

I don't believe in hitting a child but I must admit I have seen some where a spanking is needed to awaken their brains. I must also admit that I was one of them but for a father with a John Wayne mentality I'd probably be in dire straits today. After military service I made it a point to tell my Dad thank you for being a good parent.

Parenting is difficult and after our generation it has become continually more difficult given the shifts of mores availability of drugs, etc

Agree. Don't know how this thread on Trash Around turned into child abuse.

I now realize it is MY fault. I remember that I said that those worker folks wouldn't be throwing litter out if their moms had smacked them. I kinda meant it.

I would like to go on record as no child beater, but neither of our children has ever been arrested, nor our grandchildren either. Both of our grandchildren work for Fox News. Now this should turn the conversation.....lol.

Well Gracie, you and your husband, and your children and their spouses, and your grandchildren have all done something correct and well. Congratulations!

I've been known to wander off topic, but from trash at the postal boxes to child beating???? Quite a jump there

How about a fiberglass rod with a steel tip across the butt and or the palm of both hands.? Sister Eulick used this tool on boys only.

To the OP, congratulations on your 1st post. In what community do you actually live?
Ditto for you......

and for the poster ...Did you live in a vacuum before moving?

I've noticed that you often inject lobster comments in your posts. I have no idea why!

Back to trash and cigarette butts and the poster wondering if she made a mistake in moving to The Villages.
