I'm planning on moving to the Villages next year. Are Pods permitted to be parked in the driveway and is there a limit to how long it can be there??

They are allowed, for how long I can't remember but I'm sure long enough to get them unloaded. RV's are allowed 72 hours in the driveway for unloading or loading.

Might be easier to ask how long do you need to unload a couple of PODS into the garage (at minimum)? Do a search for posts of people that will help you unload them at a cost of course.

Yes it's always a good idea to impress your new neighbors by leaving a POD sit in your driveway for an extended period. It only takes a few hours to empty a POD into the garage unless you are not healthy then hire someone.

We were told 3 days, however, it had less to do with us and more with the timing of the Pod company picking them up. They pick them up on their schedule when they are others to pick up in this area. One was early another later by a couple of days. Neighbors were great. We even had one on the street that they were late getting to. I think 5 days.

As I understand it, you should NOT put PODS on a paver driveway, it will cause the pavers to crack, due to the weight.

I don't know why your neighbors would be concerned if you had a POD in your driveway for a even a week or so. If they can't be understanding of a new neighbor (or one packing out) it is not a neighborhood worth residing in. PODs cost more for the length of time you keep them, so it's not like anyone wishes to spend more money just to allow their household goods to sit in a hot container. Like I said, if neighbors are concern about something so trivial, then they are not "neighbors." If they were "good neighbors" they would be over there offering their assistance. I've lived in two neighborhoods and the neighbors were exceptional in both.

We scheduled our pod drop and pickup 36 hours later, otherwise we would have had to pay for another month of rental. We have never had a neighbor complain about a pod in the drive. In fact some stop and ask if you need help. Hopefully the neighbors who would complain about a pod, is the house you are moving out of.

We used PODs a few years ago with no problem. It was in the driveway for a couple of days before pickup. As others have mentioned neighbors were friendly and accommodating. If there happens to be an anonymous complaint you still have several days to resolve the issue. The complaint has to be filed, investigated and then given a time to resolve the problem.

If it was there for say 4-5 days why would that be a big deal. We are not as young as we used to be.
