Hundreds ? So far I've not heard anyone say they couldn't get a parking place. We haven't had a problem.

That would be my guess. If I was a Morse, I wouldn't.

Seriously? They are taking away 100's of parking spaces? Have you had trouble finding a parking spot?

Why would you want to take away a service to someone that needs it, just because you don't? That seems rather self centered. No sir, I believe you are the one "that doesn't get it".

More whining without facts. 500 parking spaces??? The villages is filled with infirmed people who would be happy to have Valet parking. Once again this site seems to attract posters filled with venom and short on facts.

I have yet to see a post saying that there were not adequate parking spaces during events at the Sharon. Speak up if I missed something

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!

THE SKY IS FALLING...

THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unbelievable how much complaining about the valet service that is on a "Trial basis" here in The Villages. If you are able-bodied and don't have any issues, I bet you will never use the service! If you are mobility challenged, you will consider using the service.

Still waiting for the posts that detail how any individual was adversely impacted by the trial......I have talked to several that had a positive impact and they aren't infirm, handicapped or have any disability.....they used valet parking because it was convenient and cheap. Going to Million Dollar Quartet....I will give it a try.

From my understanding, they are not taking of "hundreds" of free spaces, just a few. I think it is a nice service to offer residents. If you don't like it don't use it. Also I doubt if they are using "prime" parking spaces for the valet service. Can someone confirm this?

Should there be more handicapped spaces? Probably. However you can't make all the parking spaces around the squares handicap spaces. I can see the comments on the TOTV now....

It's Florida you could make every parking space around all three squares handicap and it would still not be enough. At most facilities a handicap car gets free valet parking (mall, restaurants, hospitals). Tipping is not excepted when this service is offered. My dad uses a walker and it takes forever for him to walk 10 feet, but they park at a regular parking spot and he walks, slowly. So valet would be a great option for my parents and I would gladly pay for the service.

This whole issue is overblown. Another tempest in a teapot. A non issue. Not a problem.

Valet parking is a nice optional perc that some will use.

Getting on a bus rented by a club at a rec center was a nice perc that some use to use.

You win some and you lose some.

Nobody has answered yet on what a professional valet/parking service is going to do to your car or cart when you have nothing in it to steal.

And if they were to do some damage to it, we and they have insurance. In fact, every time you personally park the car somewhere other than your garage, you run the risk of somebody doing a hit n run on your parked car.

Sowing seeds of distrust of this service is really not neighborly, considering all the people who need just such a service because of physical disability or maybe plain old convenience desired simply because it is a free country.

Quite a sweeping generalization about folks who earn a living parking cars. And "here" refers to, I suppose, The Villages. Hmmm... I hope no honest, hard-working person in the service industries reads this unattractive indictment of their character.
