I guess you won’t eat at Chick-Fil-A either. They close on Sunday also.

One of the best companies in America! Has values, much needed in America. Treats employees great. Your bashing is not appreciated. May God bless you.

They are closed on Sundays, so most high school kids would not be interested in a job there. They usually work only on weekends.

Only full timers get benefits, though part-timers can buy in to their self-insurance, which covers viagra and male condoms, but doesn't cover birth control pills for women, and costs more than most of the part-timers earn in a week; hourly employees don't even get sick time. The discount is only 15%.

As a customer, we have two craft stores already in the area: Michael's and JoAnne Fabrics. You can't get Halloween stuff at Hobby Lobby because they think Halloween is a night of Satan or some such nonsense.
Many kids work daily after school. Your "most kids only work on weekends" is simply not true...

They most certainly DO cover birth control pills for women. Just not the ones they consider to cause abortions. Such as Plan B, Ella, and 2 types of IUDs. All other types ARE covered...

I'll leave the rest of your religious and political comments alone...

I'm not a fan of any company that presents its benefits in a way that places women in the role of subordinate/servant/inferior and men as dominant/master/superior.

I'm not a fan of companies that don't provide accruable sick time to ALL employees, not merely those who work 40+ hours a week.

I'm not a fan of companies that say "sure you get health care benefits!" and then when you show up for training you learn that you have to pay for them, and they'll cost more than you will earn.

I'm not a fan of companies that "pride themselves" on their benefits, and advertise as such, and make sure that their public relations team spreads the word to the masses - but the majority of store-side employees get only one of those benefits because they're part-timers.

(the benefit they get is the 401k program - which requires that they contribute a percentage of their pay, they get matching up to a percentage of their contribution. It's a standard benefit for corporate retail company store-side part time employees, it's nice, but it's nothing special or unique or newsworthy)

I'm not a fan of stores whose owners smuggle artifacts that had been stolen from Iraq, who KNEW they were smuggled and didn't come from legitimate sources because their personnel warned them in advance that this was so...

I'm not a fan of stores whose owners use those smuggled artifacts to open their own "Museum of the Bible" to push their own evangelical dogma agenda on others for fun and profit.

I'm not a fan of stores whose owners include in their museum counterfeits to fool people into believing the pious nature of said owners.

The artifacts smuggled into the USA for Hobby Lobby's owners were no chump change. 17,000 (seventeen thousand) artifacts were returned to Iraq. The HL owners had to shell out $3M (three million dollars) compensation.

They claimed ignorance, that they didn't know anything about buying artifacts. Well - there are two possibilities here.

Either they went into a business without taking even a moment to learn about the business they were going to - in which case - I wouldn't want to do business with them, they're too risky...

Or they went into a business knowing damned well what they were doing - in which case - I wouldn't want to do business with them, they're frauds.

I don't care what religion they're pushing. If they were pushing MY religion, Judaism, I'd feel the same way.

Strange - I am looking at their website. They have 5 items under their "Halloween Scene" category:

Glue dots
Little fake plastic pumpkins
Little fake mops and brooms
Little fake autumn trees
A fake unfinished wooden wheelbarrow.

None of the above is specific to Halloween. The pumpkins and trees are cross-referenced from the Autumn seasonal collection.

On a slow day Hobby Lobby still packed. Telling anyone not to shop at a store, that TV hobby population drives to Ocala to buy their items is just wishful thinking.

I have seen busses pull up to Hobby Lobby, and unload, 40 customers.
Michaels has stopped carrying many hobby items, as they were sold, and are rebranding their business plan.

Joann fabric actually carries more crafting items than Michaels, with online presentation a stable.

Many enjoy Hobby Lobby with its Christianity up front, closed on Sunday (bad for hobbyists with a craft crisis) clean store, with employees that are helpful, seem to enjoy working there.

Exactly. Just like Chick-fil-A, closed on Sunday. They don't want to open on Sunday.
Had a grocery chain(UKROPS) in Virginia. They didn't sell alcoholic beverage.
Their stores, their rules.

Amazing how people think they should tell businesses what they can and cannot sell. Than encourage others not to shop there. Guess if their employees lose their jobs it is ok?

We are from Roanoke liked Ukrops but for whatever reason they didnt make it there.

$10.00 per hour, and it goes up $1.00 per year until it reaches $15.00
