The VHA allegedly has a developer perspective which is driven by a return on investment to the various developer business interests. There is nothing wrong with the Developer concentrating on his business profits but when they conflict with the Residents there is a need for a watchdog and the POA serves this purpose. I think it is fair to look at the VHA Leadership as allegedly a committee of the developer and The Village Management. This means it may not have the interests of the Residents as a priority.
I suggest anyone having thought s about which asociation think about a couple of things. First, try to determine which organization has fought and won issues for the residents. The score is something like this, VHA near zero, and the POA, dozens.... A previous poster stated he enjoyed reading both driveway bulletins, For a long time I have nothing of substance in the VHA paper. And lastly, Check into what became of the fomer VHA presidents. The Developer always seems to have a nice comfortable position for these ex presidents.

I know to a "newcomer" it's confusing to have two Homeowners/Property owners Associations. It was to us when we arrived in TV almost eight years ago. Neither Association is perfect----but I have to agree with other posts that the POA has taken on some difficult issues that have come up in the years we have been here and, the POA has represented the residents of TV very well. VHA has also been informative at times but has "shied away" from the controversy issues. For sure, many Villas and homes had siding problems (primarily sub-contractor) and the POA really took this issue on and helped to get many siding jobs re-done that we're improperly installed. If I remember correctly, the siding problems were 2006-2007 and over half the neighborhood Villas in our complex had
siding installed incorrectly. I am not familiar with the real early years of TV and perhaps the POA could be a bit more diplomatic at times but I know sometimes in order to get something done you have to be aggressive too. Bottom line---why not belong to both for a year or so----it will only cost the price of a couple decent dinners and drinks.
