The speed limit on Rio Grande is kept low because the cart path on that road is especially narrow and difficult to drive with the storm drains at the curb. The speed limits on major roads are kept at 35 because LSVs can drive on roads with limits of 35 or below. If they are raised to 40 or more, LSVs could not use them. With the mix of vehicles we have in TV, I believe it is more of a safety issue than a revenue issue.

We may have gyms all around OUTSIDE the villages but the survey wants to know what we want INSIDE the villages and with the size of the Villages we need more and more gyms and Not one indoor pool but MANY to accomodate 90,000 plus people Those will be my suggestions. Hope others will add to their "wish list" for the villages. many people with arthritis, sore golfers, pickelball players, etc... would use indoor pools.

Indoor lap lane pool or retractable roof over one of the centrally-located sport pools like Laurel Manor. I, and I think many other lap/fitness swimmers, would pay a monthly fee to use one.

"Florida's Healthiest Hometown" seems to be doing nothing about helping lap swimmers and other aquatic fitness swimmers reduce the high risk of skin cancer. With swimming and aquatic exercise being one of the best forms of exercise for seniors, there is a huge need for this.

And before saying "just do it early morning or late afternoon-evening when there's less sun", that's easier said than done. There are classes scheduled all the way up thru 3:00, and from November thru Feb, it gets dark too early to be able to have more than a 2-hour timeframe for which many people wait to swim laps.

1. Large (in size) dog park south of 466a.

2. At least 3 indoor pools complexes. One located south of 466a, one between 466a and 466, and one north of 466. All centrally located within those areas. Each complex needs to have separate pools for water volleyball, exercise and lap swimming.

3. Large indoor gymnasium for volleyball, basketball and pickle ball. Walking track above for lap walkers.

4. Softball complex south of 466a.

5. More defined walking trails with mileage marked off.

6. Allow for usage of Lake Sumter for recreation use such as two man sail boats or row boat rentals.

7. Indoor small caliber gun range.

8. Now that bus trips are no longer allowed to use the recreation centers as a pick up point a secure parking pick up point for TV clubs organized trips.

Read the study that cost us (Sumter County residents) thousands of dollars to complete. It explains why the speed limits are what they are.

With some of the worst drivers (poor eyesite, reduced hearing, slower reflexes) in the country here in TV, lower speeds are needed, not faster.

9. Fix the gutters at the golf cart paths. Some are fairly smooth while others are like speed bumps. I have been told that is because of the need for drainage but if you take a closer look that is not the case.

A couple of bad ones that come to mind are located behind the medical buildings at Laurel Manor and the one at Mallory as it crosses Odell Circle.

10. Make a better effort in keeping the landscaping trimmed on the approaches to the traffic circles. Some block the visibility of low profile cars.

11. Make a better effort in keeping the cart path / right side of the roadways clear of nails. Play close attention to the areas south of 466a with all the new construction but even areas north of 466a are bad. I picked up 14 nails and screws on one day walking from Sea Breeze to Lake Miona. All of which could puncture a tire in either a golf cart or a car or truck.

12. More enforcement of not saving chairs at the town squares. Create a stand policy and uphold it.

Larger RED WRONG WAY signs on some of those tunnels.

Reflectors or brighter paint on the golf cart trails so you can see the path a little better at night.

Lighting in the tunnels - very difficult to see a walker coming through the tunnel when you enter from bright sunlight. These lights could be solar powered so the cost would be minimal.

Default 4 way stop sign at Colony Plaza

Change the current stop sign entering from 466A into Colony Plaza to a 4-way stop sign. due to heavy traffic during this time of year you can be waiting quite a long time to be able to turn left.

Default Need more doggie parks

I'm not a dog owner but there is a huge problem with dog owners and where to walk their pets. In some neighborhoods this has created problems with homeowners who do not want the dogs on their lawn. The "friendliest hometown" needs to do better about where the dogs can go play

Stream The Villages radio station so snowbirds and potential buyers can listen and feel that they are there.
