Go to the Sumter County Property Appraiser website and type Wildwood Springs into the owner box. You will see 7 adjacent properties just southwest of the new Turnpike interchange. They were bought from Bigham Farms/Hide Company in 2006. Bigham owns a lot more land in the same area.

I was just looking at the layout for the village of Pine Ridge(which is one of the new village names for the old Dairy property) and I was scrolling south and the map had "property of The Villages" printed in the background of vacant land way past Highway 44. Unless this is a typo, it sure looks like TV is going South!!!

It would be nice if the cart path went to St Pete as well. I'd like to take my cart to see the Red Sox play occasionally.

I think what that means is the TV owns the property, it doesn't tell you what the Developer will do with it. My bet is that TV concept of where we live is coming to an end and that further development will be geared to a different concept that is not a retirement community but a family based community that will attract working residents which would attract those commercial entities we all talk about. I think they have a plan to continue development, just not this type of development. But what do I know, speculation is fun.

JoMar: You could be right about the Developer changing concepts, however, that is like fixing something that is working well and ain't broke.

Like you said---it's all speculation!

Just a thought. The Boomer generation is coming to a close. Who's going to be buying into the villages then?

I just look at the new homes in Pine Ridge. They listed two three bedroom cottages for $180,000.What happen to the bond being included in the selling price?
Looks like the selling price for my Patio Villa in Lynnhaven just took a nose dive. Why buy a Patio Villa when you can buy a 3 bedroon cottage for $180,000.

The last of the so called Baby Boomers were born in '64. That makes them just over 50 years old. With longevity increasing each year, there is at least 20 years left! Most of us will be lucky to live that long. Enjoy.

Baby Boomers Retire DECEMBER 29, 2010 PEW RESEARCH

Roughly 10,000 Baby Boomers will turn 65 today, and about 10,000 more will cross that threshold every day for the next 19 years.
As the year 2011 began on Jan. 1, the oldest members of the Baby Boom generation celebrated their 65th birthday. In fact, on that day, today, and for every day for the next 19 years, 10,000 baby boomers will reach age 65. The aging of this huge cohort of Americans (26% of the total U.S. population are Baby Boomers) will dramatically change the composition of the country. Currently, just 13% of Americans are ages 65 and older. By 2030, when all members of the Baby Boom generation have reached that age, fully 18% of the nation will be at least that age, according to Pew Research Center population projections. But don’t tell Baby Boomers that they are old. The typical Boomer believes that old age does not begin until age 72, according to a 2009 Pew Research survey. Also, while about half of all adults say they feel younger than their actual age, fully 61% of Boomers are feeling more spry than their age would imply. In fact, the typical Boomer feels nine years younger than his or her chronological age.

Yes, that's unfortunate. Although you have a nice central location, which is a plus in my book.

I just looked at those cottage homes. There was one two bedroom at $173K and a three bedroom cottage at $181K and the rest ranged upward to $234K

Just over year ago a two bedroom patio villa was selling at around $140K and then they jumped to $180K, if you could find one. I see no cause for worry.

Two homes directly across the street from me built just over three years ago sold for more than $100K more than they were originally. A rising tide lifts all ships.

I think I read the bond is separate on the homes in Pine Ridge too.
