Default Villages Shuttle

I use the shuttle just about every week. Recently they seem to go out of their way to accomodate people who are late or in the wrong location. This comes at the expense of those that are on time, of course. When you have a flight to catch time is an issue. When you are trying to get home time is an issue. Am I alone in this or has anyone else experienced it? Any good alternatives would be greatly appreciated.

Default If you can drive....

When I fly, I rent one way from Enterprise at Orlando, and return it the next day in LSL - no drop off fee. On the way back, I rent from Enterprise at LSL and return to Orlando (sometimes a drop off fee of around $50). Since I typically travel with my wife, the total is always less than the cost of the shuttle for two of us. We are also in control of our destiny, and we go right to the house. It's a better alternative for me.
Of course, if you don't like that hour-ish drive, that's another story.

Maybe the time has come that the shuttle service is not in your best interest. Have you considered using a private/personal car service? I know there are several advertised in the Daily Sun - and some have better rates, too.

My question would be what length of time is an issue here?

Our experiences this year have shown that the shuttle leaves on time from TV for the airport. A couple of times when we dropped off guests there were folks who had not yet shown up and the drivers tried to reach them by phone before leaving on time.
The flight for one of our guests arrived late at the airport one evening. The shuttle driver called her and she was enroute to the shuttle. He asked the other riders if they minded waiting and nobody complained, so they waited less than five minutes.

At any rate a few minutes may be ok but more than five and I would think it is time to head out.

Last time I checked, the shuttle was $40 per person each way; I've heard that they reduced it to $35 when gas became cheaper.

From TV, at Spanish Springs Station and Lake Sumter Landing Station. At Orlando airport one stop at the A terminal, one at the B.

www.thevillages.com/AboutUs/shuttleschedule/ worked for all the latest info, once upon a time!
