They've been doing some work on the golf course in our neighborhood I wonder if maybe something got in the line?

We have an electric egg poacher/steamer we get the same brown stain with tap water.
Water standards have been relaxed chances are you may be getting filterred water as distilled.

I use distilled water in my Golf cart batteries and also for my dogs water (minimizes dark spots in their eyes what I call eye boogers), WalMart had been out of it for the past week so I found it at Winn Dixie!!!!!

We had an RO system at our home in Maryland, we had a well with very hard water. If I buy a house here in the Villages I will definitely install one of them, since we are just renting now I will just continue with distilling several gallons a day. I've found that the RO and Distiller both are effective at removing unwanteds down to about the 9 PPM level.

Thanks for everyone's responses didn't mean to cause alarm or stir anything up, just reporting something unusual to see if anyone knew something that could explain it.

NOVA water system. You should see what the 1st filter looks like. Back in the day I had ugly water. Not anymore.

Not distilled but great water.

We also make our own alkaline water, which if bought in the store is about $4 a gallon.
We use a “zero” water filter which removes all minerals down to <6 mho. Same as distilled water and we use this in our coffee maker and never get any scale. They come with a tester to prove it is working. So much better than the “britta” unit we used to use.

We have filtered water in the frig. We drink that most of the time but still use tap water for cooking and coffee etc. We have never had a stomach virus in the 13 years we have been here. Discoloration doesn't mean it is unsafe to drink. I trust they are doing the job and making it safe to drink.

We are still here, but still are thinking about a water purifier because of calcium buildup on sinks that are hard to remove. They don't harm but they are ugly and difficult to keep up with.

But is it in a plastic container, or a reusable glass one?

Default Avoid water spots when washing your car

Obviously water spots occur if water droplets dry on the car. I squirt the car with water until all the large gunk is off. I then take a sponge with a 50% vinegar and water mix and wash the car, with special emphasis on the windows. Quickly I squeegee the windows and then with a towel, I dry the car. Any remaining moist parts of the towel I use to wipe off any water spots that remained. My car is spot free, and the whole process is 10 minutes!!

This will be flagged as off topic

My solution to water spots on my car and my neighbors laugh
When it rains { No Lightning around }

I put on my bathing suit and wash my car
Then let mother nature rinse it.
When it drys..... no spots

Default Ohiobuckeye

I couldn’t hardly stand TV water, it smelled & tasted like chlorine. We drank bottled water & I’m not so sure if most of it didn’t come right from a faucet. Can’t hardly believe TV could bill us for it!
