That's great. With a few more replies (I hope), I'll forward the admin. Thanks for your support!

Sounds like a great idea, count me in, I have also gone one step further, and I have my name in to install a lightning monitor which would cover all of TV and beyond, just wanting for the sponsor to get back to me. Currently the closest ones to TV appear to be in Tampa and to locations north (Gainesville/Jacksonville??).

Thank you for the feedback and suggestion. We have not had any prior requests for this. You may want to make a post on the forum and see how much interest there would be for something like this. If there is enough support we can add it.

The Weather Underground Wundermap summarizes a pretty chunk of available data and can telescope down to small areas. It also includes the data from PWSs (Personal Weather Stations). There is pretty good PWS coverage in The Villages.

WunderMap(R) | Interactive Weather Map and Radar | Weather Underground

While there could be installation and maintenance issues with the PWSs, my experience suggests they are generally pretty good. If you want to know what is going on in The Villages, the PWSs are a good place to look.

The Wundermap also includes a simple access to some of the results from the ECMWF and NWS global spectral transform codes. More detailed results, and from other codes, are available elsewhere but explaining the results can become involved. If anyone is interested let me know and I will post some other links.

Great idea! cocorahs.com is a great site sponsored by NOAA that allows us to become weather sites to record our data and observations and view data from local and national weather watchers. Its a great site that I have used for years and totally legitimate. Community Collaborative Rain Hail and Snow Network. All it takes is a simple rain gauge and good old fashioned thermometers.
