Default Amenities??

Seriously? Up $14 in a month? This inflation is killing us. When is it ever going to STOP? MY SS CHECK isn't increasing

Yeah, increasing by $0.46 cents per day. Guess I'll have to start skipping lunch. I've heard about this inflation thing going on. Or is that Fake News?

I totally get that inflation is real and affecting many right now. However . . . . why is it that all businesses seem to jump on the bandwagon and use every crises to earn more money? It's getting to be epidemic now. Like others stated, our pensions and SS checks have not gone up. My amenity fee jumped $12 last month, my insurance supplement jumps $13 next month, Netflix, utilities, groceries, massages, gas, when will it end? I for one - don't like it. However, I have to keep in mind . . . we live in America - we have so many things to be grateful for, we are all so lucky and fortunate. I can think of many situations and scenarios I'd rather not be in right now. And I feel badly for people who are facing really hard times. My complaints are rubbish compared to some folks. I'm grateful for the bed I sleep in, the food in my refrigerator, the car in my driveway, the roof over my head that is paid for, my almost perfect health. I wish we could start a thread listing all of the good and amazing things in our lives. There's an idea.

You don't get inflation.

"All Businesses".....have you looked at current earning reports???
Example....Walmart, Target.............revenues are up, profits are down.

The Districts and AAC are not a business. And their costs are rising along with everyone else. Wages are probably #1 due to the difficulty in finding workers. But everything affiliated with maintaining our community is costing more. They are not earning more money. And the amount of increases in amenity fees is tied to a legal document we all signed. A lot of years we had little or no increases.

I'm sorry for you and poster#4. The rest of us had a 5.4% COL increase in our SS checks this year.

If they gave us actual cash some might realize it went up but straight into checking account guess that is harder to realize.

I feel for folks who depend on SS as their primary source of income. We may have had a 5.4% COL increase this year, but inflation is 8%. SS is always playing catch-up with its increases. $14.00 per month can be big when combined with the increases in food and gas.

I don’t have an answer for the increases, just a suggestion that we show a little compassion for our fellow neighbors.

Medicare and my supplement increase ate my COL increase all up and then some, not to mention prescription coverage. It is what it is and soon there will be a college tuition tax that we'll all be paying one way or the other. Spending in this country is out of control but still nowhere better to go.

If all else fails maybe it’s time to move if you no longer can afford the lifestyle!

ha ha it’s an option, but a life around the world of helping to keep bad governments in power or to put bad rebels into power has left me in pretty good shape
