2 cats will kill your chances, looking now at the beginning of bird season will kill your chances for this year, no carpet anywhere will kill your chances, unless however you are happy with a mobile home outside of TV and even then anything decent won't allow cats. You might want to consider buying a mobile home in a development that has low site rentals or possibly come down and pickup a used RV and have it spotted for you in a RV park.

Seriously? What a response for the OP's request. People have pets these days and many of them. Cats can be excellent pets because they are not allowed outdoors for their own safety and there are more predators for birds in The Villages than household cats. If these are well-tended, cared for pets, they won't be an issue.

Many of the homes in The Villages have tile from one end to the other with no carpeting to be seen. I suppose mobile homes should be recommended for most Villages since a good number of them have incontinence issues.

Good luck to the OP in finding a suitable rental, they are out there.

For clarification: we do not have any indoor pets. But many of our friends do have them and the pets add dimension and value to their lives and their homes are immaculate. So why not?

I like cats and have nothing against them but walk into any home with cats wearing black clothes and when you leave you'll realize why the majority of owners will not allow cats in their rental units. When we bought our home here we rented a home during our search that allowed a cat and it was bad, there was nowhere in that house where anyone could sit without getting white cat hair on them and there were several other issues from the cats. The OP is going to have a very hard time finding a rental that meets his or her requirements having 2 cats.

You don’t need a Realtir, excellent or otherwise. Rentals are online, it doesn’t do any good for the owner to not have them available online. There may be a very few very special homes that don’t go online - what you’re looming for isn’t one of them.

The 2 cats and no carpet will limit options. Pet deposits and a higher monthly rent will go along with those 2 cats.

How far outside the villages is the renter willing to go? Budget?

Check online, call property management companies, and word of mouth like you’re doing.

I have found outside realtors do not know what is happening in TV. Find a good realtor instead and avoid the salespeople who swarm you at the sales offices. I am not a realtor but have met a couple. If you’re interested message me and I’ll furnish the info

Smile for rentals inside the villages (if needed)

We are looking to move to TV and after reviewing several rental websites this one is the best in my opinion!

VH4R Home Rentals in The Villages Florida The Villages Rentals

good luck to you!

Since the OP has not extended an invitation to visit, the cat fur will not be a problem. Since they have 2 cats they are aware they shed. Having a dog is no different, if you are referring to hair, accidents and smells. Many have cats and no smell and they take care of litter and fur immediately. There are many rentals that allow cats and dogs. Don’t be discouraged.

And unlike dogs, cats use a litter box, not a grassy yard. Also cats are QUIET & can be left alone for more extended absences than dogs can be (BTW I have one tiny dog, NO cats, but my dog always travels with me due to her blindness & insulin-dependent diabetes. At this point, I am her support human 🥴)

All Hilton chain hotels are now pet-friendly. (Hampton, Home2, Hilton every Hilton brand) Home2Suites by Hilton was their trail-blazing pet-friendly brand. There is a newer Home2Suites in Wildwood. Your request for non-carpeted floors means you are aware that shedding fur is a major concern for furniture & carpeting but if you are honest & willing to pay extra cleaning & damage deposits, you’ll probably find what you are looking for inside TV if that’s what you prefer. There are several rental websites for homes in & near TV & some MLS realtors also have rental listings. Many apartments are being built adjacent to TV too. Good luck!
