It cost my son and Canadian daughter-in-law (ex-illegal alien) big $$$$$ for an immigration lawyer. And she didn't run drugs, plan to bomb anything, or undermine the American way of life. But she is now the proud possessor of a green card! Apparently we can't be too careful about you Canadians.

Wannabee,

My heart thumped too when I realized that Abraham-Hicks and Course in Miracles were alive and well in the villages.
There are a number of Course in Miracles groups that meet in TV. There is also a class offered in CIM at the Lifelong learning college and the instructors are wonderful!

I will be in TV in February also so if you like, just pm me and I can give you more info at that time.

We are in TV six months and are film buffs so belong to both film clubs , Village Idiots, Belvedears Ladies group and the Belvedears Social club for our village. When we have a chance we also make the Illinois club and Computer club. We play golf and my hubby plays Pickleball also. Played Bocci ball for 8 weeks also this winter. When I can I attend the R.N. club to keep up with the field, take line dance lessons (we have taken the beginner classes twice) and take several courses at the Village of Learning. We both like to be busy as you can tell. Most clubs meet once a month and at this point we are not leading the groups. As a Sidebar I SELL on Ebay to move my inventory about once or twice a month from my Antique shop. Yes, we do find time to read and go out for dinner or sit by the pool.
In the Villages you can do many things or just sit and relax and watch the wildlife. We do the relaxing when we are in Il. and look around and say "Where is the next driveway party??" Does not happen here so we look forward to our return to The Villages!!

I don't really belong to any "club" clubs. I hate cards/table games, I don't swim. To me hitting a ball with a stick in a cow pasture in the heat is very odd and I am not a good mixer (small talk, et al). Consequently I have very few friends here. I tried things some people suggested and found then a crashing bore. And no, I do not have a negative attitude.
I am ecstatic that others love to do all these things these clubs offer. But to me, they are just boring. I work, play the trumpet, do my sports research and thats about it. As you can guess, I am pretty much a loner and I accept that.
Yet, every Thursday I pick up the paper and read the Rec News looking for something that will pique my interest. Been here a little over a year .... nothing yet!

Neat bumper sticker. Went like this: "It's God's job to judge terrorists. Our job is to arrange the meeting!"

Be a gentleman, remove your hat/cap when entering a building and dining out!
