Shut all activities down then were all =
Then there's no need to watch over the fence see who's doing what

A lot of arguments would be prevented if we turned off our televisions with the 24 hour news cycle and started using our heads for more than a hat rack. The vast majority of golfers are social distancing. Most outdoor activities are safe if you use a little common sense. If you are going to wear a mask and gloves, learn about cross-contamination. You're far more likely to infect yourself through misuse of those things than you are from 9 holes of golf. And don't waste a mask to take a walk, ride in a golf cart, or to ride a bike. It's completely unnecessary.

Of course you have.

(remember, there are hundreds of golfers out there......playing and observing)

The truth shall make you free.

Actually no, no, and yes, I shared a cart with my doctor---but he's been a lot closer than a golf cart

We have been playing executive golf until yesterday. We Where paired with 2 men that where maybe the nicest guys out there.
They were so nice that they got in our face. They were so nice that they gave a fist but to my wife.
Golf needs to limit tee times to 2 people. This will mean cutting down your 2 a day executive golf so that others can also play.
Sumter County now has the highest death rate per capita in the state. It is not going to get better without STAYING HOME.

Give me definitive scientifically validated published cases of COVID-19 transmission on a golf course where people are practicing social distancing. Anything short of that is just babbling.
Because, as per the OP, people aren't always complying with social distancing.

Statistically, you cannot extrapolate 5 deaths in a county with our population to mean anything

So much defensiveness. So much anger. So little tolerance to opinions of others. Take a deep breath. Namaste.

Not defensive at all, not even angry. I'll tolerate any opinion that has a valid basis. I'm not a big fan of I think...…, I believe...…, I heard...…, They should have...…, nor do I care for all of the political BS.

If people can't maintain social distancing on the golf course, by all means shut it down. But don't limit to golf. Cyclists still ride in packs, cough, breathe and talk 6 feet upwind of others---shut down all cycling. Walkers still staying within 6 feet of each other----shut down all walking. Golf carts pass each other within 6 feet on the MMPs---lock all carts in the garage. And like I already said----shut down all highways because some people speed, not to mention grocery stores, mail stations and gas stations. And even then, you still can't obtain zero risk.

Have yo ever seen players spit on the grass or green while playing? Maintenance workers? I certainly have. Do you know all the players in front of you? Can’t give you actual person who got it this way but just thinking about my ball rolling 75 times (I am a low handicapper) is too scary. Live to play another day.

Not to mention subjecting the entire support staff to contamination, who must go to work each and every day to keep the courses up and running. Not to mention the new changes pertaining to trail fees, which requires numerous employees to handle the onslaught of processing payments and answering questions.

Yes. Stay home. Gov. Cuomo is going to impose a $1000 fine on those who violate stay at home rules. The death toll jumped dramatically in NY today.
