Last time we came back from NYC, we brought Bauer's Mustard, 15 lbs of smoked salmon, 2 whole smoked whitefish (vac packed), 2 lbs of kippered (baked) salmon (vac packed), all from the local smokehouse in Middle Village, Queens and 2 dozen frikadellen (a German hamburger) from Zum Stamtisch in Glendale.

We did not go up north this season, but when we do I like to bring back from Western NY the following;

1) Kimilweck rolls for "Beef on Wecks" (Although I was told Publix knows how to make them and will on request).

2) White Hots

3) A few gallons of Chivetta's marinade for Chicken, etc. (AWESOME!!) could not live without this...

4) Salean's hot dogs

5) Bison Chip dip.

6) If I could Perry's Ice Cream (Sabre's Top Shelf Sundae is to die for...)

7) Tim Hortons coffee and chili.

8) A Mighty Taco from of course, Mighty Taco....

9) Lastly, a good pizza- not thin like NY style, not deep dish like Chicago, just in between....like almost any pizza made around Buffalo or Rochester.

That being said, we moved here, we love it and would not move back. OH, I almost forgot...a bushel of GOOD HONEYCRISP apples....

I had forgotten about Delgrosso sauces, all of which are awesome! My favorite is the basic marinara.

Whenever my cousins or I make meatballs (following the family recipe taught to us by our Nana) we use that sauce instead of making our own. None of us cousins will ever divulge that secret to our uncles/aunts for fear of being disowned by the family

Vernors and Faygo pop, Better Made Potatoe chips are the best. Cassata cakes and Angel Wings. Kogel hot dogs and Kowalski sausage. We live in the UP and can only get most of these favorites when we visit downstate. I CAN order Better Made on-line and I do so frequently....yum !
We hope to build in TV (Gilchrist ) within this next year.

We add these things to Gracie's list since we both come from Cincinnati. Along with her goodies we bring Frisch's tarter sauce. Montgomery Inn BBQ sauce. Aglamesis and Graters candy, and Husmans potato chips. But the best of the things we bring is Goetta. Just had some this morning. Yummy.

From eastern PA I gotta have chubs of Schaeffer Bologna. They check them at the airport for explosives!! Also Charles and Gibbles Potato Chips. Fresh Market carries Charles Chips so I can get my fix locally.

I remember my neighbors having Charles Chips delivered in the famous can. Good stuff! Also, Faithful Frank mentioned kimmelweck rolls - Wegman's has expanded as far south as Maryland, and they carry them - maybe some day they will be in Florida!

Herr's bite-size sourdough pretzels and real fresh Polish kielbasa (not smoked) from Kowalonek's in Shenandoah, PA, are what we miss most.

However, the closest we've come to finding similar down here are Sweetbay's pretzel nuggets... they have the right crunch and salt content... and Publix kielbasa is pretty good, but it's missing the little mustard seeds. We've tried the Polish deli in Leesburg and the one down in Tampa, but, oddly enough, Publix beats them both.
