I started Top 10 TV Reataurants posts and good dishes but many Villagers could't come up with 10. I'll also miss great theaters and concert halls but is NVA better than NYC? My wife said she's done cooking most of the time sooo...., I am o.k. going out. When thinking about TV, there are many, many things which will counter balance those thoughts. I love TV though I'll do my best to pitch for great restaurants, etc. Please help me.
Since you mentioned about Theaters and Concert Halls, someone just posted recently about a new top nitch entertainment facility of some kind in the plans somewhere in the SS area. Just thought I'd mention that for you and perhaps someone else can remember the thread where it can be found!

BW, were you the person they were singing about in the commercial jingle.....

Skyguy79 Think I read about it. Hoping there will be something in Brownwood. If Second City can make it in such a small place, why can't we? I hope so. Are there any curly girls around here?

Trish,

When you and your husband move to TV, you'd better take your snow shovel and ice scraper with you to avoid separation anxiety. Just hang them on the wall of your garage in your TV home and gaze at them lovingly!

We've used the ice scraper to get frost off the windshield when the car was parked in the driveway overnight.

Suggestion: Don't decide anything until you have come for a lifestyle preview stay or stay with friends/relatives. Most of us have given up on trying to describe the singular beauty that is the community of The Villages. There really is NO place like it.

When I miss an ear of sweet corn or vine-ripe tomatoes we grew, I just think about the hardship of bitter cold with wind that puts the wind chill far below zero for days; the lack of seeing sunlight for weeks on end; the skyrocketing heating fuel bills; the daily possibilities of slipping and falling on ice and cracking your head open or breaking bones/joints while fighting osteoporosis; never being able to walk outside barefoot for 8 months at a time; needing a 4-wheel-drive vehicle or tow truck to get going to work at 5:30 a.m; snowblowing the driveway for an hour only to have the beginning section filled in again when you finish the last section......repeat last task again...repeat last task again...hoping to be able to get to work in the morning...

The corn and tomato thoughts fade real fast!

It is going to be a hard decision --- and we haven't even made it down there yet for a preview. We are trying to decide if could completely let go of the midwest, or if we need to have a place here and one in TV. I guess TV needs to put in a corn field and tomato patch!

Wait till you try that yummy Zellwood sweet corn....

What do I miss...Hmmm!...Walking out my front door to a beautiful Donald Ross golf course, the fall leaves, but most of all my wonderful North Carolina friends BUT NOW I play a zillion golf courses, still have leaves, Ugh!, but more importantly ALL my wonderful friends here in LaZamora and Ladies Day!...And also so lucky to have TOTV friends....Thank you, thank you!

We don't move into TV for a couple of more weeks, but the ONLY thing I will miss (aside from friends) is our beautiful back deck, built directly over the Caribbean sea with a view of the mountains of the continental divide to our south.

Wow, Cappy! That is a beautiful view for sure! Maybe you can bring that view with you to TV by framing a picture or two and hanging them in your new home in TV.

We sold our business in Panama a few months ago and we were on the fence about remaining in Panama or heading back to the States.

Our biggest concern is that my wife and I both have aging parents who might need our help in the coming years. When my mother-in-law (who lives in TV) fell ill a couple of months ago, we decided to move sooner than later.
