For the most part we're very satisfied with our move here! No complaints!
But that being said, I do miss the song-birds of the upper midwest (robins and more)...lovely to listen to. Also miss the daffodils, crocuses, lilacs (but crepe myrtle are a great substitute and bloom a long time). I don't lament on the distance/time to get from one area to another---we're retired!!
Restaurants that are missed----CULVER'S!!! Not many others though. We've relocated and can't lament as this is a different area of the country with what is "native" to here.

Prepare a place of honor in your refrigerator and go to the website "jerseyporkroll.com" and order Taylor Pork Roll and Habbersett scrapple. The pricing and shipping might make this an occasional indulgence, but it is a righteous thing to do.

I miss just being "out there" on quiet evenings at anchorages like this one in the Turks and Caicos, with the sea gently lapping at the hull of the boat.

Default Fall is beautiful in rural North East

I miss the changing of the leaves, the smell of apples and grapes in the air, and the geese migrating with two or three v shapes in the sky.

I miss the HS Football season. After that, we're in to winter, and I won't miss that.

My friends. I miss the ballet, the restaurants. I miss my job. Strangely, I miss commuting (yeah, I know, I'm weird -- always liked commuting [was my downtime]).

The mountains. I miss camping every summer at Yosemite. There is something seriously wrong with a state where the highest point above sea level is 345 feet. Sailing the SF Bay. Boating on the Delta.

I love my bubble. I love the activities here. I love the people here. I love the cleanliness here. However, every time I leave the bubble, I'm absolutely miserable. I hate Florida (sorry, folks)!

Red:

Try tent camping at Rainbow Springs State Park in Dunnellon (35 minute drive from TV) and also renting a canoe or kayak and paddle up and down the Rainbow River. Great Time! Bring a fishing rod and try your luck from the park pier. Take a drive to St Augustine, walk around one of the oldest towns in the US, do the evening cruise on the bay.

Fla may not have mountains but it does have some very interesting places.

(I miss looking out from our porch and seeing the largest lake in CA and the 4500 ft high volcano)(I sure do miss the summer temps in Oakland and the bay area)

I miss scraping ice off my windshield at 6 am before going to work.
I miss all one finger salutes you get on the Beltway around D.C.
I miss my car being vandalized in the parking lot at work.

No, come to think about it, I don't miss a darn thing since moving here.

Default Another great use for a cart

I was out with the dog on our daily walk and decided that that scenes like this will be what I will miss the most when we transition from Snowbirds to frogs.

A greater amount of computer and technology literacy. In TV the women seem to be more adventurous when it comes to using technology than the men.
