Default What indoor temperature do you keep your Village castle at when you are here?

Battling the heat and humidity.

"Owing to variations in humidity and (likely) clothing, recommendations for summer and winter may vary; a suggested typical range for summer is 23–25.5 °C (73–78 °F), with that for winter being 20–23.5 °C (68–74 °F)." - Room temperature - Wikipedia

Are you using variable day/night temp settings? If so please relate your values.

Castles are meant to be cold and damp.

Thermostats all do not register the same. They can be off as much as 2 or 3 degrees. You should have another temperature gage in your house to make sure when you set your thermostat for 76 degrees that it’s actually 76 degrees in your house.

Cool to 77, heat to 72. Although on really cold days I'll kick on the gas fireplace.

As the guy with the whole home energy monitor I can assure you that your HVAC is the number one consumer of electricity.

If your thermostat is off by 3 degrees, you need a new thermostat.

Also temperature may very throughout locations in house by couple degrees. My back bedroom always 4 or 5 degrees warmer due to length of duct and afternoon sunshine’s.

I think I’m an outlier- I like it cool - Year round AC - 72 days / 67 nights - I don’t turn on heat - I’ll put on a sweater or put on an extra blanket on those few cooler winter days/nights.

Me, 80 by day and 74 to sleep. Wife, 76 by day and 70 to sleep. We compromise at 78, 72. January to mid February we open all windows and sliders, turn the HVAC off, and the temperature is what it is. I turn the heat on once per year for about a half hour, with the windows open, just to check that it’s still working and burn off the dust. When up north, my wife will keep a window open in the bedroom anytime it’s above 32 degrees, so I often sleep with a sweatshirt. Our bedroom is upstairs, so the heat from the wood stove raises up and makes the room an oven. That being said, if it’s that cold we should be in the Villages.
