Agree. But a lot of people Don’t know that their thermostat is not accurate and need another instrument to check the actual temperature in their house.

78 during the day, with the oscillating fan & the ceiling fan on in the liv/kit.

71 at night with ceiling fan on. Our bedroom faces north, thankfullly, & is always the coolest place in the house.

We can agree ours is off about 4° confirmed by A/C company
on service call. A new thermostat was installed and that was off by 3° not worth the $150 charge technician reinstalled original

It's possible that the thermostat just needs to be calibrated. But, any decent thermostat should be able to measure and control the temperature to within one degree of the setting. Note that it can only control the temperature at the thermostat location, not the entire house.

It depends. I notice I’m comfortable inside between 74-78 degrees anywhere anytime. But sometimes when it is really humid 78 can feel hot. And sometimes when the sun has gone down and it is quite dry, 78 can feel coolish after a hot day, so it is relative. My app is on the phone so if I wake up because it’s too hot I just lower the temp.

Summer - we have ours set for 78 degrees and turn on the ceiling fans in the rooms we are using.

Winter - we set ours to 72 degrees during the day and 68 degrees at night.

80 for A/C in the summer. Only used the heat once or twice during the coldest of winters.
