I would like to know what the name of this road is, and who is responsible for maintaining it--the county or TV? If it's the county, then you are suggesting we compare apples to oranges. TV-maintained paths would not be let go to this point. (PS: That is my OPINION, Bogie!).

That is wrong. The Developer doesn't maintain the landscaping. That is the responsibility of the CDDs. An easy way to think of it is that the Developer builds it and then the CDDs maintains it. That was one of the reasons why FL has CDDs; to provide a continued funding source for maintenance of certain infrastructures.

That is why our maintenance fees are not higher and we cannot prevent nonresidents from accessing the roads in TV. I believe the developer maintains the landscape along the county owned main roads. Just look how nice the landscape looks.

The roads are maintained by the County (except for CYVs, as already mentioned). When you say TV I assume you mean the residential CDDs. They maintain pretty much everything else including the MMPs (except some things like the squares and the commerical areas).

Looking at the picture and reading the comments, it is again clear to me people are making comments without knowing all of the facts. The picutre shows painted stripes. The proposal being put forth are thermoplactic stripes. They will last a lot longer and wear better than painted stripes.

There will be a meeting Monday morning. I certaianly hope all of you are complaining here are planning on attending the meeting or at a minimum contacting your district representative.

Sorry. I still equate CDDs 5-10 and the VCCDs with the developer. I recognize the costs are born by the residents and the developer.

A stripe is a stripe is a stripe. We, as residents, are still going to be charged for something that is not needed.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion.
The opinion I have....no the facts I have based on 11 years experience in TV.....just like signs do not control those who speed or run stop signs or do what they want in roundabouts.....

After the striping all those who drive their carts will not change how they drive because their is a stripe there....these same people who are the cause of the accidents over the years will be driving the same way.

Accidents and injuries will not be reduced because of striping.

And of course some few who drive at night in the rain....you know, the safe already drivers, will be able to see the stripes and feel better....but here too not change the way they drive.

Sorry, but I think you're over-complicating this. And mixing apples and oranges a bit too...

I don't think anybody is saying that striping will turn bad drivers into good drivers. The pro-striping folks are just saying that...for those folks who have some trouble seeing the edges of the paths at night...it can help.

IMHO, the bad driving that occurs 24/7/365 is not a relevant part of this discussion.
