I think "edgy" is more thought provoking about ideas - not picking on other people!

Maybe the lack of wait in the restaurants has mellowed people

I also experience some errors being generated. I assumed part of the site was under some sort of maintenance but the rest of the site was left under operation.

Maybe we need a seat saver or poop thread to get it going.
Do I detect a slight scent of bait?

Let's all try to put the things that divide us behind us. We can't agree on politics or on philosophy but we can agree that there are fewer years ahead of us than behind us and that we have been dropped here in The Villages for the remaining years of our life. We are old (er) people and we have strong ideas. We want to defend them and make others agree. That isn't going to happen. Just zero in on a wrinkle or a bent back or keep in mind that Alzheimers could strike us tomorrow, or a wayward golf cart and we would no longer be here.

People who are the most unlovable often need our love the most.

End of sermon.

What do I know?
Life is too short. For most Village people, this is our last stop. Lets enjoy what is left of our life. Most of us have experience their share of heartache through our journey. Let us try to make our epilogue a happy one and live in peace.
Gracie. You are a master. You know more than you think. And most TOTV members respect you for your words of wisdom.

Neither is correct.

Some of us who are smart enough to recognize the good with the bad, actually have it pretty darn good too.... and are far from envious.

The biggest criticism I would have of this site (which, all in all...is pretty darn good )....is that certain forum bullies are allowed to try and dominate others who don't share their views.

I would hope we are all adults by now (questionable in some cases...I know ) and can have disagreements, without accusations of some kind of hidden agenda.

As to anonymity, this is the internet fer cripes sake.

Anyone can read this site and there are some real fruitcakes in the world.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that those who keep wanting to know the real identity of others (especially those they disagree with)...are the exact types that are prone to make trouble in real life for those they don't like.

"Edgy" enough PammyJ?

This thread has pretty much run its course and will be closed.

TOTV is open to a diversity of topics and opinions and personalities, however, the overriding principle is that posts must be done with civility and respect. What one finds edgy, others will find offensive so there is no perfect tone that will please everyone. We do our best to find a reasonable middle ground.

A reminder .... if a particular forum member really gets under your skin, you can always use the ignore feature so that their posts are invisible to you.

We use the site guidelines document as our standard when evaluating posts and threads. If you have never read them, we encourage you to do so. They are written in plain English and are pertinent to this forum and its use (i.e. not a lot of legal mumbo jumbo). They can be found on the main menu line under forum instructions.

Thanks for your cooperation.
