Default Where is guidance from TV?

Please tell me if I'm wrong or overly critical.

I don't think I've heard anything from Tutt.

Where is the guidance? Where are the ongoing updates? Why aren't the Rec Centers (not just one) open for people needing shelter and comfort?

Is it me?

EDIT: It's me. I've been taken behind the barn. I guess I was a bit hasty in my criticism. I just want my neighbors to be safe. Apologies to anyone I have offended.

They aren't our mother. They are builders. You cannot get blood out of a turnip, or expect it.

The guidance is here:
Village Community Development Districts (This is Tutt's Boss)

Sumter County, FL - Official Website
Lake County Emergency Management - Hurricane Harvey & Irma - Speed Wealthy
HURRICANE IRMA — Marion County Sheriff's Office

Plus all the network TV stations.

Plus many informative posts right here on TOTV.

The rec centers that are open are for those living in mfg homes and low lying areas.

What additional hand holding would you require from District management?

IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF SHELTER CALL YOUR COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT.

Bless you, dear. Blood out of a turnip? LOL! Still, they're the district government. I expect better.

Stay safe and dry.

Bogie: perhaps I actually am too critical. For me and my husband, we're fine. I worry about others in our Villas. I have organized a list of who is staying and who they can call if they need help. We'll also be going door to door when the weather permits.

We're fortunate. We're younger than most of our neighbors and want to help them if we can. I just want them to be safe.

Thank you for your input.

Good for you in watching out for your neighbors! That's as it should be with ALL of us as we are able (some are not as you stated). I think we got plenty of guidance via all sorts of social media, t.v., the radio, the newspaper and more. I personally don't feel it's up to "the developer" to guide us...but that's just me! Be well and stay safe!

We are grown up people. It's in the papers, it's all over the news, there are shelters. We are getting all kinds of guidance. They are listing everything, todays paper was full of guidance.
What is it you expect the Villages to do?

I don't feel entitled and I don't expect to be spoon fed. Sorry you got the wrong idea.

I have been getting updates from The Villages for the past few days. They are doing a great job.

There are state and federal rules for what constitutes a hurricane shelter and our rec centers don't comply.

OH MY, no one said we needed a mother! What should be expected is word from the Villages if any local Village property is being used for anyone in great need! Oh my Graciegirl, not a time to be harsh with people's concerns
