Skyguy79,

Stupid and gasoline are a bad mixture. Storing 5 gallons of gas in your garage is OK as long as you use an approved container and keep it away from any heat or spark sources (think gas water heater). It is no different than parking your vehicle in the garage with 20 gallons of gas in the tank.

Not only gas water heater which most of us don't have, but any electric motor sparks as garage door openers. I feel much better keeping my gas can on the patio or Lanai.
