Christmas is in your heart, so it doesn't matter where you spend it but.....if I have a choice, I'll take palm trees over snow any day!

I would love to be in Puerto Rico; that island is beautiful, the weather is fabulous, the food is delicious, and it is warm......
serve me a mojito or a cold beer and I will be happy.

I want to be with my family when they are off school and work so we will be heading north. Smiles.

Merry Christmas, Diane.
Merry Christmas to you as well.

My comment isn't anti Villages but rather pro home. Sorry but for now this is not where my heart and soul want to be for the holidays.

Thus, I totally understand those who wish to join the family up north for Christmas.

For those with no family ties, the good folks in The Villages become like family and welcoming to all who are alone at this time of year. The sunny weather is a big plus, for sure.

Having just enjoyed an extended visit with our adult children and grandchildren who came to be with us over Thanksgiving time and who assure me they will visit us in The Villages (no doubt during the school vacation weeks following Christmas), we hope to have the best of both worlds.

We got so much positive energy and love from our grandchildren.
Kids are a joy to be around. Anyone who thinks otherwise I'm afraid I "don't get". We love children........all children and everyone's children. They keep us young at heart.

I understand why posters want to be surrounded by those they love and who love them in return. That's familial love and hard to find outside the natural family unit.......although good friends are a close second.

We consider our grandchildren to be a great reward in life.....it's just a joy to talk to them, observe them, hear about their adventures, their sports, their music lessons, their school, their birthday parties............what else could be more fun. The littler ones are also a joy.........baby and toddler.....just learning about the world which spreads out before them like one big adventure.

We had our kids young......at age 23 and 25.......so it's been awhile since we've had babies of our own............but this second and third bunch of babies/children........are just so much fun. When they call on the phone to chat or else "Skype" with us on video cam.....it's the best. But that's just us.

I would hope they would all come to us..........rather than us go to them during wintry snow conditions like we all just had over the days leading up to Thanksgiving, etc, etc. But feel blessed that they braved the icy roads to join us for Thanksgiving and the days before and after.........

I would say, "Follow your heart" and that heart most likely will lead you home.........if not, invite the ones you love to your home.

They will come.
Senior, you did the same thing I did, read too much into the question. OP indicated and reiterated he only wants to know if you want snow or sun for Christmas.

Default Stay here

After spending a lifetime where it's cold and it snows, we would rather spend it here in sunny Florida. A lot of people vacation here for Christmas to get out of the cold and we actually live here! We are very lucky.

Sandy and I have spent the past 4 or 5 Christmases in the car, driving back to OH from TV. Christmas Day is a great driving day (barring any nasty weather!) as there is very little traffic out and about. We don't have any family back in OH - all our relatives live in different states - so we're not really missing out on any OH family gatherings. We've always enjoyed spending the middle part of December in TV - it's fun to see all the decorations and lighting displays............and to enjoy the warmer-than-we're-used-to weather!

Unfortunately, plans aren't working out for us to be in TV this month. We'll miss it.

Guess next time questions will have to be multiple choice:
A. Snow
B. Sunshine

I choose B

Default Optimistic about choice B

I am trying out choice B to see how it feels! I have spent every Christmas up till this one in PA with my family. We just moved into our lovely home here in TV three days ago, and we decided to stay in the sun/warmth and have a new experience. Our son will be down visiting my husband and me, so we will have a lovely day together! It will be a little strange, and I am sure I will miss my parents and sister and her family, but I really like change, and I love TV!!!

Default Me too

I choose B too! I don't care if I NEVER see another snowflake!

If our kids can't come to us, we take an adventure trip someplace warm and see them later.
