I've never heard of Dukes and will have to try it! We use Kraft here. Mom has psorsiases (sp?) and Hellman's really flares them up!

A bit off the subject but Wal Mart certainly has put a lot of smaller businesses out across the country with their buying power and selling tactics. Bad, good or indifferent each of us probably has an opinion about Wal Mart.

Some think that a company can get "too big". Wal Mart recently has started to struggle with that problem as profits have fallen.

That is true, but you don't get the fuel perks when you do that.
As for mayo, my favorite is New Orleans' own Blue Plate brand.

Yep .... they buy the mayo by the train load (literally) and dictate to the manufactures.

They pay the rank&file worker poverty wages and the Waltons are at the top of the 1%'ers list.

Do you think they pay their employees less than Target, or Kohls or Publix?

Usually pay scale is indicated by the level of expertise and skill not the success of the business..

Absolutely !!!!! Mini marshmallows in slaw is wonderful. We love having what we call sweet spaghetti and salmon patties. Actually we use elbow macaroni, tomato sauce. a touch of butter and maybe a half cup of sugar.

But double the price is a lot. What about Aldis who is a small chain selling mayo even less than WalMart ?????

I'm telling you. It's because Winn Dixie charges more for that jar of mayonnaise.

We have this dish quite a lot. Try our recipe.
4 Sliced cucumbers, 2 sliced onions separated into rings.
cover with cold water, add 1 tbsp. salt, soak 30 minutes, then drain well.

Beat together; 1 cup sour cream
2 1/2 tbsp. cider vinegar
1 1/2 tsp sugar
salt and pepper to taste

Pour over cucumbers and onions. Let marinate at least a day, gets better the longer it marinates

We ordinarily like Aldi's brands very much. That said, we've tried their mayo on two occasions. Both times it separated into its components while in the fridge. It was probably ok to eat, but not very appetizing. Just trying to save you some money here...
