Question Why NO Fireworks at The Villages

Why doesn't the Morse family have a grand fireworks display. Sumter landing is perfect. Launch them from the golf course over the lake....

Anyone know why?

Crowd control & liability.
Surrounding communities have displays.

I suspect this is closer to the truth

Personally I dislike fireworks. Extremely disturbing to the wildlife as well as family pets. I vote for silent fireworks, where you enjoy the sparkle without the boom.

I could be wrong but doesn't the noise signify the sounds of war?. The one that gave us freedom?

I was thinking that but since I don't live there yet I thought I should be prudent.

While I love fireworks on the 4th with the 1812 playing and church bells ringing (even though the composer was Russian and the story was about Russia and France), fireworks themselves have been around long before our independence - something like China in the 12th century.

Default No money in it!

Probably the main reason is the Villages has not yet figured out a way to charge us and "get tickets at the box office". No profit so ..... "no way"!!

Neat bumper sticker. Went like this: "It's God's job to judge terrorists. Our job is to arrange the meeting!"

I highly doubt that the reason is related to frightening our pets but.....

So many pets are terrified of the noise.: I know of 2 beautiful shelties that took off scared out of their wits and headed for the main highway here in upstate N.Y.. They were both killed. Mabe its a good thing they dont have them in TV.

We were originally by Villages personnel that there were no fireworks because of the buffalo. Guess that doesn't hold up now.

Considering the number of no or very minimal cost to residents events that are held by TV, take the above for what it's worth. Ah the Developer! How do I hate thee, let me count the ways.

If TV put on a big fireworks show at Lake Sumter, personally I'd love it. And of course if they would bring in the Boston Pops or the National Symphony Orchestra to play "Star & Stripes Forever" and all, that would be even better. But if there was such a show -- even without the Pops -- there'd be a huge turn out amongst non-residents. Can you imagine the posts on TOTV bitching about all those outsiders using "our" facilities?

Ah Muncle.

What is there about you not to love?

Once again I so agree.
