I would love to see all the snowbirds stay for a whole year. Just think instead of everyone here 3 to 6 months a year, everyone FULL time.

What a happy place TV would be, everyone in their home taking care of lawns, driving the roundabouts, taking up golf tee times, restaurant reservations, run over gates, throwing out cigarettes from their cart (I have 3 neighbors that toss theirs on my lawn everyday, not a bird). Then one can enjoy all the aspects that only happen few months a year.

Would the conversation be any different? would one be less happy if everyone was here 12 months, or happier.

I need to go uncover my lanai furniture and enjoy the day

Many snowbirds lately are coming from parts of the country where they are always ****ed off and they bring that with them. Many are non-conformists and want the rules to be like where they came from. My suggestion woyld be, if you don't like it here and don't want to conform to our policies, go back where you came from. PERIOD

I am puzzled. We have a number of winter people and they are as accepted as the year- rounders are unless they are unacceptable by behavior as some year-rounders are. In fact, we look forward to their return each Nov, Dec, or Jan and are sad to see them leave each April, May or June.

They arrive...not unlike the "love bugs"....then they leave...I have no animosity towards either. As a matter of fact I get to renew friendships...that part is not like the "love bugs".

Perhaps if the "snowbirds" had to wear a badge, tattoo, hat, colored shirt, etc. to let us(the non-"snowbirds")easily differentiate between us and them and could then direct my displeasure at some action they take(rolled through a stop sign, golfed slowly, made every place seem crowded...well you know). But I would not as I've lived lots of places from Japan to Scotland...they all have snowbirds only they are usually called " tourists". *GRIN*

Been here 20 years. Lots, not all snowbirds do nothing but party, party, party when they're here with little to no regard for others be they other snowbirds or full timers, this gives them a bad reputation. Some are also pushy and aggressive wanting what they want "right now", because they are "on vacation".

Wouldn't you think that a place as built up as The villages would have a lot of people and traffic? So, why would anyone buy in here who isn't prepared to deal with hard-to-get tee times, wait times at restaurants, traffic on the main roads? As for me, I have never been unable to get a tee time on one course or another...NEVER. I have always been seated within a reasonable time at any restaurant I've chosen...ALWAYS. I might not choose the restaurant with a line wrapped around the building. I have always been able to get from one place to another within the time I ALLOW for doing so. As far as traffic goes...why would I be in a hurry...I have left business meetings behind. I am retired.

There is horns honking for pauses at the red lights, or in the round abouts.

This is some of the reasons there is resentment.
I personally am happy you are paying amenities fees all year round, which helps to lower mine.

The very same things occur off season.

People that complain about congestion from snowbirds would you rather they were full timers so you could complain about congestion all year. I come from a congested crowded area with lots of traffic.The so called congestion at TV is a piece of cake. Snowbirds pay full time taxes and fees which is a benefit to permanent residents.
