Morse will be the primary feeder for south of Sumter Landing heading north off the turnpike. Not a bad thing, especially for the "traffic" on Buena Vista south of LSL. I remember when Hillborough Trail was nothing but construction vehicles, now most times it's an effort to turn left onto it. Busier then Pinellas in fact. Just wait till Labelle, Osceola & Pine Hills are built out. Brownwood will be their destination, the smart ones will take 44, not Hillsborough.

I would like to place a sign at the east end of Hillsborough Trail that says " Not a Thru Street". Or, have signs suggesting everyone should use 44 "Brownwood this way ->".

Truckers know that a straighter line is not always the fastest in the west. You might have a few that try not knowing, but once will be enough for them.

All construction subs have been warned not to use the gate at Hillsborough and Buena Vista. But with that being said, as long as you have construction going on off of Hillsborough, you will get traffic.

I would assume that much of what ends up on the shelves in that shopping corridor comes from the south up the turnpike.

Your second statement is precisely my point. The straightest line from the turnpike to that area would be up 27/441. However, that route is littered with traffic lights. Slowing to 20 MPH to navigate a roundabout beats sitting at light after light for a minute at a time.

Most of the stuff on the shelf's comes from the north and the midwest on large trucks. Not sure on the thought about navigating round-s-bouts beats lights. If you have never driven a Large Car, Rooster Crusin, Chicken Truck, then you will understand one will do anything to stay away from round-a-bouts and the traffic.

Most of these cats that deliver to these stores around here are local drivers and already know the way of the road. Just like Fedex or Ups drivers, they know which routes to avoid.
Local deliveries such as Publix,, Winn-Dixie I am sure the trucks servicing those stores will use Morse and BV to 466a when delivering. Publix has stores all over, so they go every which away.

Every now and then you also get bed buggers, I mean trucks delivering household goods for people that are moving from the north or what have you to The Villages driving thru here, but that is expected.

Check out the number of distribution centers in the Orlando area. Just because the material may have started from up North doesn't mean that it comes to The Villages from up north.

Watch the "bed buggers" as they go through a roundabout - they are no more of a burden to them than they are a car.

We live near Morse and 466. When inquiring about directions on 441 (going toward
Ocala)we are always directed east on 466 to connect with 441 when going north on Morse is certainly quicker. I doubt GPS will direct people to drive on Morse. At least I hope not.

I don't like to use Morris north of 466 unless I really have to. It seems pretty dangerous with the golf cart path on the road and no sidewalks and all those left turns.
