"The difference it can possiby make" Maybe some people on this site just jump to early conclusions. Have you heard she is from the villages. I have not heard that. Could it be someone from outside the villages maybe. Why not wait to we get some facts.I do not think the police will say, found on the third hole golf course in the villages,sooooo-she must live here.Relax

I know Gracie. OMG. I live on the second hole and she was found just behind the third green. My little cul-de-sac is all abuzz. I may have to send a tip to the Daily Commercial newspaper. We haven't heard anything else. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything.

The only facts I do know are, 1)the police were called, 2)a dead female was discovered, 3) neighbors were questioned and asked if they heard (a) gunshot(s). (I don't know if they were asked if they heard a shot or shots. Either way, we assumed she was shot or maybe even shot herself.)

One thing I know BK, when you type something, it is NOT speculation. It is not rumor. You are the journalist you have been all of your life.

I am sure you have heard gossip about who it might be but would not say until you knew more, as to whether it was a villager or not.

One's mind jumps to all kinds of conclusions.

It is sad. I have to think it is a villager. Her body would have had to be brought through someone's yard to place her in the middle of the golf course. Or...Maybe not. Is this part of the course surrounded by homes, BK?

This is off the charts! My God. The facts will come out and I feel freaked out by this.

Cool

We played OB today and the starter told us about the dead woman, before we headed out on number 1. Said she was found behind the green. He didn't have any information other than what has been reported here...woman and a gun found at the scene. I walked around the back of the green, but didn't see evidence of anything happening there.

I'm sure there'll be something in tomorrow's Daily Sun about it.

Looking at the Google maps I believe the third green of Orange Blossom is near the portion of Schwartz Blvd that is parallel with the Lake/Marion county line and about a block West of the entrance of Hibiscus Dr (which should be called a court as it has no other inlet/outlet). The third green is surrounded by houses on three sides.

My aunt and uncle live at the East end of Hibiscus about a block from Schwartz. I just called them and they hadn't heard of any police activity on Schwartz near Hibiscus today - two blocks away. My uncle said he went to Paradise Center in the morning and drove there mainly on Schwartz.

Should be on the front page of the Daily Sun tomorrow!

Yes, Gracie, this part of the course is surrounded by homes. There is a cart crossing for the course across Kaufman Circle between holes three and four. The body was found fairly close to this crossing point. Kaufman Circle is off of Schwartz, which is a main road on this side of TV. But the cart path goes all around the course behind our homes here too.

Remember, as we get older and lose our life time partner, things happen. If this is true, may she rest in peace.

If it was a suicide they may not report it in the newspaper. I had heard that its usually policy not to report suicides in some papers so as not to encourage them through attention. Not sure if this is the policy at the Villages Daily Sun.

http://www.poynter.org/uncategorized...ng-on-suicide/

There were some suicides on my street when we lived in Reno, NV and I never saw them reported in the newspaper. There would be an obituary but it would not mention the suicide.

Perhaps we should resist our natural instinct to speculate and gossip. And please remember that this person might have family members who might end up reading our postings here.

Default Is everyone thinking Homicide?

In the Village of Buttonwood we are starting an AED external defibrillator program in the Queen Palm section so that if a person is out for a walk or on the courses and experienced cardiac or pulmonary arrest a set of trained res ponders will be contacted by the 911 operators and they will respond to the emergency, I imagine ti reason we are doing this is because the demographics and the climate of the area have made us aware that there might be a real need for a person to have their heart started before EMTS can get there.

I say Bravo.

The reason for saying this is that any person out walking can collapse and need resuscitation , Possibly this was the case there but help didn't come fast enough. I would like to say prayers of commendation for her so that her soul is lifted up in the way she dreamed it would be and that she is enjoying her eternal reward.
