Default Crime Prevention

I have a friend who winters at a park adjacent to the Villages. When they leave to return north (wherever), they place a chain across their drive. What better signal than that to advertise your away. There are so many little things you can do to protect your property in your absence.

Exactly, I think burglars would be LESS likely to break into a vacant Snowbird home.
They are mainly after light and easy stuff to lift: jewellery, cash, credit cards, iPads, etc.
They can't get a lot of money for used furniture at a pawn store.
