If I am actively passing the traffic on my right, I will pull over as soon as I've completed that. That assumes I am expeditiously moving past those cars. If I am barely moving past them and there are people behind me I will pull into the right lane at the first opportunity to let them pass me. I can then move back to the left and complete passing the cars I started to pass.

It doesn't matter how much above the speed limit the cars behind me are going. I am not an LEO, and have no business controlling the speed of a vehicle other than my own. Let those who want to speed go past me and have their accident somewhere else but near me.

Exactly! That's what most of us do. When you got two or three lanes of bumper to bumper traffic you get over the first chance you get reguardless of which way you want to turn.

Amazes me that LEOS hardly ever catch the speeder way over the speed limit. Where is all thE unmarked LEO patrolling. Evidently it's not on the streets?

There are a lot of people who simply don't want to disengage their cruise control, so they pull out to pass someone, and it takes them a long time to do so. It creates a problem in the passing lane.

Good point! When passing on interstate I use the gas pedal get pass pull back in the middle or right lane and let the car slow back to my setting.

I have to admit that I have had cars with cruise control for years - and never once used it. I'd rather drive myself than have Google do it. (PS, a cop tried to give a ticket to s Google car but could not - no driver. Let's ban driverless cars.)

I use the cruise control all the time, I especially like it on the 30 mph roads around here (yes it works at 30 mph), as I can keep my foot just over the brake pedal while the car keeps a nice constant speed. This actually improves my response time when something happens. The steering wheels controls allow changes in speed while still keeping my foot over the brake.
I would use this same technique back up North is snow, and fog, IMHO I think this works really well.
