Default Yamaha U-Max type carts?

I know the street rod classic car / truck type carts are built on a Club Car turf-utility type cart frame. They are bigger and beefier than the standard golf carts.

I have not seen any bigger or beefier Yamaha carts except for the 6-8 passenger concierge type carts.

Would it be any problem using and getting around on a Yamaha U-Max type cart? I really like the Rally 2+2 U-Max. I assume it would not be golf-course friendly, but otherwise would be multi-modal friendly?

I seen one at the Brownwood store last year. Don’t know if they are still selling or not

Too wide of a wheelbase for some of the MMP’s and too high to fit in some of the tunnels. It’s a cross between a golf cart and a utility vehicle. Not appropriate for the Villages.

Good points, thank you.

That's not stopping people with those wide and high 4 person Gem Carts from being on the paths.

They should not allow those things. Very dangerous when a cart that wide goes across the Lake Sumter Bridge and encroaches on the lane of carts coming in the other direction.

Spec sheet says max speed 15 mph. Too slow, everyone will have to pass you.

I looked up the actual specs for this cart vs a new Quiettech-

The UMax is only 2 inches wider, 4 inches taller, and has less than 2 additionally wheelbase inches. The total length is about 18 more inches, but that should only affect perpendicular parking.

I'd say buy it if you like it. The only places to be careful are lower tunnels in the north. The Villages is home to many lifted golf carts with wider than stock wheels. They seems to get along fine.

Probably speed can be jacked up like 80% of all golf carts in villages.

I see no difference than the green LSV tax break vehicles people got decade ago.

reading from that link, the Yamaha golf cart is 47.3 inches overall in width and the Umax is 53.54.

The extra width is a concern and maybe a disqualifier.

It would just barely make it over the Lake Sumter/Morse Bridge. Maybe with 2 inches total to spare (1" on each side). Atomic Coupe is 55" wide with Turf Tires and it's a VERY tight squeeze when another cart is passing. With street tires it's a bit easier at 52" IIRC.

Thank you all, your insight is valuable. I think I will pursue a non-UMax option.

turnng radius of 3.98 m compared to golf cart 2.3 m. would encroach upon oncoming traffic especially entering tunnels.
