What can be done if someone is trying to sell their home when an eyesore is visible to their property? I'm not referring only to the cactus landscape but any eyesore in any part of our community. Can something be done if negative feedback from potential buyers to the selling agent includes an eyesore visible to the home up for sale? Does anyone know if something can be done?
Reminds me of a friend who bought into one of those fancy high rise condos on the beach where all the lobbies and halls were controlled, all public grounds were controlled, all party rooms controlled. But then someone hung a holiday door decoration, and a year later 2 cars showed up in the garage each with a political bumper sticker affixed. Individuality and freedom of expression. For Shame!!

So this is your idea of an eyesore - this past week a band of gypies arrived at dawn in our quiet little neighborhood and started cutting down the most beautiful oak tree in the neighborhood. The Neighborhood Watch came by and stopped the murder, then, I have been told, TV sent an arborist to look at the murder, he instructed the tree to be cut to a certain point and then left standing. It is now a mere skeleton of what once was a beautiful tree. Now that is a MAJOR eyesore and will be there for eternity!

Default And what about parking gold carts on lawn to sell? What is next, CARS?

Why are neighbors and guests made to look at such an eyesore, right on the street and sidewalk? It’s a community embarrassment!
And what about for sale signs in front of houses and clothes drying racks on driveways. People should be considerate of neighbors and adhere to bylaws as the community dosen’t cite people for offenses. It’s up to the neighbors to report unseemingly stuff.

Default Cactus yard

I think cactus is fine but that yard has serious design flaws that make it just look unkept.

I think in or golden years we need to keep are eyes on the road and not gocken around nosing in someone's backyard. That would save some of the gate arms and PVC stops sign posts on MMP. I would also recommend keeping your eyes on the road and in your own lane going around roundabouts and maybe use the blinker light once in awhile. "O" lay off the liquor also.

Why would the gypsies cut down an oak tree? What's in it for them?

The yard is beautiful. We drove by it today. Some of y'all need a hobby or a life. I see many things people put in their yards ( non-native plants, especially the African palms many love). That is their right however. At least cacti are native to the Americas.

If the yard offends some of you so much, pull you big boy pants/big girl panties up, walk up to the front door, ring the doorbell and proceed to tell the owners how much you dislike their yard. Express your displeasure to the owners in person.

Quit hiding behind the keypad.

It’s been done. We looked at a house few doors down agent said it was a hard sell. Guess a drive by and living next to yard is two different stories

Hard sell means you pay a bargain price, win win. Cheaper house next to a cool yard.

Yes it was $20,000 less than a house farther down the street. Loss for the seller. We passed on the house.

Really? I am just like you, only different. I expect to make money on the investment of money on our house here. Or our girls will. AND 20 K is a lot of money.

Slightly off topic but clotheslines are protected by law.
