My bad. Didn't realize that.

What route would you take to do that? You can't cross 27/441, can you?

Right you are Bogie. Also, although I am no engineer, it appears to me there is no place a tunnel would "fit". And who would build it?

The fact Kohl's, Sams Club, etc., are not golf cart accessible does not deter me from shopping there. It would be nice if they were though.

Not so fast there. Remember that the Florida LSV Laws allow a local authority to prohibit the operation of low-speed vehicles on any road if it determines that such prohibition is necessary in the interest of safety.

Now if I recall correctly, there is a sign in the parking lot where you would cross Rolling Acres Rd. that says “No golf carts beyond this point”. So if the authorities intended to prohibit street legal carts it would say that too.

Default LSV: Not a Golf Cart

I believe LSVs (low speed vehicle or "street legal") are defined by statute as not being golf carts although people use them as such. Hence, the sign "no golf carts ...." is correct. Have seen LSVs cross 466 at Morse and other intersections many times where "no golf cart" signs are prominently displayed.

So if you're in a street legal cart/LSV, you can cross 27/441 at Rolling Acres? I was under the impression that they weren't allowed on highways with the higher speed limits.

Thanks -

You can cross 27/441 at rolling acres, just tooooo scarrry and very illegal to drive on 27/441...giggle...You can actually drive down rolling acres from 466 if you want, but again, too scarry!....Here is another curve, you can drive up to 466 on rolling acres, take a left on 466 and still be legal until you get to
27/441, again real scarry but legal in a street legal LSV.

Isn't the speed limit on 466 45 MPH and Street Legal carts are limited to 35 MPH or less streets?

So the law views "crossing a road" and "driving on a road" differently? I was under the impression that the LSV's were just flat out restricted from being on the higher speed roads altogether.

Just trying to get all the rules clear in my mind - this is a new revelation to me!!

I have parked many times on the side of the shopping plaza and walked across Rolling Acres to get to JoAnn Fabrics. Nice to know that Michael's will accept their coupons, but they still don't sell fabric. Drat! Maybe if everyone continues to cross the street on foot there, they will get the idea and at least put in a cross walk signal. Then we could push a button and at least get a red light to stop the traffic so we can make it across safely.

Yes Bill, a street legal LSV can cross any road that is >35mph at any intersection.

So for some of us LSV owners, it’s not just the additional speed that an LSV provides but the increased access to otherwise cart restricted areas that justifies the ~$450/year registration cost of an LSV.

Speed limit from Rolling Acres to Morse on 466 is 45 mph but 35 mph from Rolling Acres to 27/441 on 466...go figure!

That's sure strange!

Not much on 466 East of Rolling Acres to 441/27 that I remember.
