Remember how I wanted to get a lot of people to help get a Chipotles in The Villages? Well I changed my mind.

Was it a bad burrito or maybe a tainted taco?

According to the news, 45 people have come down with food poisoning and 43 said they ate at a Chipolte in the week they got sick. Most likely it was some common ingredient in all the cases from one source. Most likely, lettuce irrigated with polluted water.
However, how many thousands of customers ate at Chipolte in that same time period that did not get sick? I have had some sort of food poisoning from fast food restaurants a few times as have most people. Hey, we all keep going back, don't we? |

We have Chipotles just two miles from our northern "hangout" and we never have been excited or impressed with the food. But to each his own.

Check out the Chipolties stock price.
It could happen to any chain. My post was not a serious one. I do like Chippoltes, I just can't spell it the same way twice. It keeps coming up differently. |

I had mistaken the Chiles on 441 to be a Chipotle shows you how often I eat out. My wife, a big Carlie Chan fan, believes the Chipotle villian to be the celantro

This is an unfortunate incident that could have happened to any food company, chain, etc. Chipotle might be more susceptible to it though because they use all organic ingredients. The real culprit might be the fact there is little real monitoring, control, tracking etc of our nations food chain. It's one of the trade offs in the way we collectively choose to run our government versus private industry self policing system of controls.
I'm not trying to make a political statement, because I don't pretend to know the right answers and this is certainly not the place to discuss it. I don't care if the government has zero involvement, but I do care that the issue is addressed and when I go to eat at an establishment that is allowed to serve the public, my health is not at risk. Oh--by the way, I love Chipotles! But then if you haven't had a true southwestern palate experience you might not understand.
