why did you pick out the home you are in now and do you wish you would have gone to a larger home or a smaller home.

Tommy, are you looking for perspectives from frogs or snowbirds/snowflakes....or all of the above?

Cherie, my better half, and I chose an Aspen designer. We wanted an open floor plan and didn't want a breakfast nook AND a dining room. When we entertain, we do it informally. We have only used the dining room in Ohio a handful of times in eight years. As we downsized to 1950 sq. ft. We wanted to be sure the sq. footage would be sq. footage we would use. The price was such that we could get the upgrades we wanted and stay under budget. We are very happy with our choice.

We will offically be there as of April 18. We looked over a long time period of time at all the models and finally decided on the Lilac. After already living in Florida (my hubby is a native, I grew up in the North) we were sick of the stucco look. So the Cape Cod look of the Lilac was appealing to us for the exterior. We also wanted a 3 car garage and medium size bedrooms. A lot of other models had small bedrooms and with 5 kids and 4 Grandchildren we wanted a little extra space there as well when they came to visit. It jsut was a good fit for us,can't wait to actually move inside.

Purely and simply on resale value. We knew we wanted to be on a Championship Golf Course with a view and in a very private area, the only thing available at that time was an upgraded ranch. We had in mind that this would be our last move and did not want to saddle the kids with having a difficult home to sell. We ripped out the interior and totally redesigned it with a private contractor. Our homes very rarely come up for sale, the last one that did was due to a death in the family and it was on the market three days. Love, love, love my home and neighborhood!

We chose the HOLLY because it has a nice open plan, a big island in the kitchen, a big shower in the master bath, and all the doors are 36" wide. We needed to have a wheelchair accessible home, and the Holly was already there. Also the double doors to the Master bedroom is a nice touch.
We like the desk in the kitchen dining area for a computer. And my husband has an idea to enclose the lanai and it's already got walls on 3 sides. I know we are going to love it. We have a closing date of June 13! Connie |

We have not made a decision yet on what model we will settle on..Hoping to do another LSV soon in a CYV to see how that feels.. Its all about the dogs and what will work best for them. What model peaks your interest Tommy? My husband wants the CYV and I am more concerned about the home itself and how it fits on the lot whatever it might be.. Hoping our 2 Doggies will be happy with whatever "WE" decide

Our decision was all about the dogs as well, as everything in our life seems to be including our current home in Seattle where we have a half acre fenced, two corner lot, which we personally did not need!
We looked at wonderful homes, all having special aspects about them, but we ended up in a CYV at the new Haciendas at Mission Hills. We were awed by the view and were able to buy the first home at the dead end facing Live Oaks Park (which we did not even know would be developed when we bought) on the West side and the gorgeous lake and preserve view on the South side, with a neighbor only to one side so only one wall. The view was so expansive and the villa so quaint and pretty that we bought it immediately as we knew it would be snatched up quickly because of the open view and yard, and of course the fence. There are still many more CYV at the Haciendas and I would suggest you take a look. In fact, two up from where we bought has the HUGEST yard for dogs and a wonderful view and has not been purchased yet, not sure why as I was sure someone with big dogs would buy it. Worth taking a look, private message me if you want more info on this Village and these villas. |

The best advise I can give you is to get the biggest garage you can get on any model you choose. Expand it sideways and lengthways if you can.
Storage is at a premium. There's no basements, no sheds and limited attic storage over the garage only.
