Finally joined, after following TOTV closely for at least 2 yrs, being unable to resist after noting so many others with Maine ties. I'm another native "Mainiac", born in Bar Harbor, graduated B.H.H.S. in 65, Orono in 69. Still co-own the home in Bar Harbor in which I grew up, so will be spending much summer time there after my wife (born/raised in Newark, NJ) & I hopefully buy a house in TV during our lifestyle visit 9/8-9/14, coming from Montgomery Village, MD. Looking forward to meeting other "Mainiacs" after we're settled in.

Ay-uhh! I was born in Cumberland Ctr. and spent most of my life in the greater Portland area....got tired of the long, gray cold days from November to April or May. House in Westbrook sold in 3 hours and the next thing I knew I was in a Penske truck, heading south on the Maine Turnpike! That was in August of 1998.

We go back to Maine every summer...still have some family there and hubby has to get his fill of lobstah and other cold-water seafood.

The lifestyle here is just as fabulous as it was when we moved here...16,000 residents, one town square that wasn't done and 5 executive golf courses! You will love living here! Welcome!

Whether or not the last posting was meant for me, thanks! I'm reminded of what a small world it is, tho TV being a bigger & bigger part of it. While in Bar Harbor most of last summer I joined a golfer, originally from Portland, who coincidentally rents in TV over the winter! Also, fyi, all independent of each other, a former co-worker of my wife's here in Md & her hubby several yrs ago, a former co-worker & still friend of mine in Md last yr, & recently my wife's brother & his wife all bought in TV. Almost forgot, a former co-worker of my wife (from 35 yrs ago!) & her hubby are planning on buying in 2014 in TV. BTW, IMHO, all of the aforementioned are really good people that I'm sure have/will continue to make TV a great place to live. We're more & more looking forward to sharing this next chapter in our lives in TV with our friends & family!

Hi Cookie,
My wife, Lorri, and I are from Alfred, Maine. We grew up in Limington & Limerick. All are in southern Maine. We are moving to TV the first week in Nov; have a house in Belvedere, off cr 466. Wife retiring Nov 1. I retired Apr 1. She's a legal secretary and I'm a retired deputy sheriff and investigator for the district attorney's office. Our Maine house is for sale, been on the market since July. Will be "snowbirds" if the Maine house does not sell soon, otherwise we plan on staying at TV all year. By the way, I'm also retired from the Maine Air National Guard, who are also called "Mainiacs"
