Default Bowling

Curious to why I see nobody talking about bowling? I understand it is either the most popular or second to it!!! I looked at the web sites and there are some GREAT bowlers there. Have a GREAT day.

I love bowling! I usually bowl on a winter league and sub during the summer. Living here has given me the opportunity to "bowl with the pros" when the senior pro bowlers tour comes through. I will be bowling in the Pro-Am this Saturday. What an experience!

What is easier to accomplish? Bowling a perfect game (300) or getting a hole in one?

My answer is a hole in one because luck has something to do with getting an ace. In bowling a perfect game, you have to be perfect for 12 consecutive shots.

Default 300 vs. 1

I agree, there is some luck in a 300. You can throw a pretty good shot and not get the carry. Hole in one seems like more luck than skill , but if you are hitting it at the pin you have a lot better chance!!! I've been doing both for close to 50 yrs..Never had either. I looked at the bowling alley's web sites in TV and seems like you have lots of good bowlers there. Numerous 300's.

In both bowling and golf, modern technology has changed the game.

I golf- larger- metal woods, better balls (no more smily's cracks) hybrids and specialty clubs for every imaginable shot. Try playing golf using "WOODS" with a small face.

In bowling , a bowler used to use his own skill to make the ball curve toward the headpin. Nowadays, the balls have weights to make the ball break for you. And let us not forget...bowlers use two balls now. One for strike and another for spares. This was not allowed years ago. I have wanted to join a bowling league but not sure if I can accept the changes.

I did not know that. Amazing what one can learn here!
