I would like an opinion on which Village seems to have the most "fun". We want to live in a Village with lots of neighborhood activities and just plain friendliness.

IMHO every Village will claim that they're the best!
That said, experience suggests that the newer Villages are the most lively. Part of that, I suspect, is that many of our newest Villagers are "youngsters!" But, many older Villages have very close-knit communities. My own street of some 16 houses has residents ranging in age from 56 to 83 or so. We pay little attention to the small age differences, and revel in the closeness of our friendships. It helps tremendously, I think, that all but our youngest neighbors, moved here within a couple of months of each other! Bottom line, Leon, is: You're going to love it here no matter where you are! You honestly won't know without talking to people who already live there. One street in a village can be very active with things going on weekly. The next street over may have a get-together twice or year or even never, with just friends getting together at each other's homes.
If you purchase in a new village, the odds are pretty good there will be activities, at least for the first year or two. Even if you manage to land in a "dead" zone, you'll still find plenty to do and, odds are, that you'll find a few people on your street that will become friends and with whom you'll do things (including getting together in each others' homes),

My Husband and I just purchased in the Village of Rio Grande. We were advised by some friends to purchase in a "newer" village, because we would find more people our own age. We prefered to buy in an "older" village, hoping for a wider range of age, and experience. We love it, (we are only part timers at this time), we find the neighborhood has a variety of people, and have been welcomed with open arms!

I think you will find the new villages to have the most activity. It is simply because everyone is new and are usually anxious to meet new friends and are just plain open about meeting new folks. Everybody is in the same boat they want to meet new friends. Unless they moved here in a group they won't know anybody either.
Newer villagers from newer villages tend to comunicate more on this site. They are just so excited and want to communicate that. Having said that I don't think it really matters all that much which village. You will meet new friends any where you go. This is not a good place to hang out if you are a hermit or hermit want-a-be. |

Tee hee Speaking of happy villagers, remember the old adage: To find happiness you must carry it with you. That's why we have the shopping bags and coolers on the golf carts. ![]()

LOL I don't think any village stands out more than any other. If I stay home for some reason it is because of my choice. There is always something going on in my neighborhood.
