Word of advice, don't get excited and start to sign with with lawn care companies and landscape companies without doing your homework.
If U are going to hire anyone to do anything call Seniors Vs Crime first and give them the company name. They will tell U how many complaints they have or have had..Good luck...

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. We are overwhelmed with the planning (and spending) to come, but look forward to meeting a lot of great people.

Ruth and I sure feel your pain!

Money Vampires! or Hoover Salesman we don't know which? We feel like the T mobile commercial where they hold the customer unside down and shake out the last few cents.

The shock and awe of closing costs were absolutely the worst Christmas present we ever gave each other!

Next will be the moving nightmare.

Default Upstate NY Anyone?

I've met only two people on this forum from the NY area. We live in Queensbury. While we are lucky to have beautiful Lake George practically in our back yard and the famous Saratoga 20 minutes away, the winters have driven us away. We will move to TV in June. Anyone else move to TV from NYS?

Yo, we are from Guilderland, NY, suburb of Albany. Cannot take the winters and taxes are pretty bad too. I will be moving to TV (Tamarind Grove) in the Spring or as soon as we sell our house in NY. The hubster will join me and the pups when he retires Nov 2012. Aside from the entire state of Ohio, I think you will find quite a few New Yorkers in TV.

Hi. I know where Guilderland is. I expect the reason many people from NYS move is because of taxes. That is one of our reasons, as well as not wanting to shovel the snow anymore! Last year I fell while getting out of my SUV and nearly broke my arm. I said that's enough for me! The older I get (I'm not that old now) the more careful I have to be not to break anything! Can't wait to move to TV and enjoy all that life has to offer. I have a feeling it's gonna be a whole new world! Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Default Congrats

Can't wait to meet you Skyking (and all my other neighbors to come). We are leaving a deposit with the realtor tomorrow for a home in Tamarind Grove also. Sounds like it is a great place to make friends. Unfortunately we won't be moving down full time for a few years but I sure do like the way the neighbors are so welcoming! Hold my place til I get there everyone. I have a feeling the fun excitement is just starting as we go through the process of buying this house. If anyone sees my other post and has advice on how to do this by mail I sure would appreciate it. I'm as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

Default House sitting

Welcome to Tamarind. I thought I was on the edge waiting a year to move in to our new home?

Time for house baby Sitting- Several Years of not lived in is not a good thing!

Gonna need Red Witch or the Village Empty Nester Service to keep Cootiies Critters and the lawn maintained.

IMHO
